Would everybody leave Scott alone. He does everybody a huge favour by giving us this information. We should be grateful for any details, however small, we receive. Scott is doing it out of the goodness of his own heart. So what if he posted a teaser, for the teaser, yesterday, and now the info is 24 hours late? Anybody who says it's all just spin and we are all puppets and part of "the game" are way out of line.

Scott is, quite rightly, immune from ANY criticism. He does no wrong, please remember that.

Hey Mods, can I have a Sunny's info channel? Give me that and I promise, I too will share what I am having for dinner. Heck, I will even share what I had for breakfast and lunch too.

Everyone can have their own information channel. Just surf over to Twitter and tell them I have sent you, they will set it up for you, promise.

Topic, please?

Apologies. My server went down still waiting to go back on line.
So I contact via the Blackberry. Still more to come , be patient.

Well the M5 , especially the 25th anniversary edition was a teaser a prelude if you will to how BMW will take the M brand further.
As well as a standard luxury performance sedan. The M5 will be offered also as a hardcore variant with less emphasis on luxuries.

The new M5 will showcase the new approach with the M Division distinguishing their products from the core BMW models.
All M models will have the standard platform redone in full aluminium bringing down core weight , The BMW M5 breaks with tradition and will be available as an option a full carbon fibre roof. Carbon Fibre body panels especially the bootlid will bring down weight further aswell as the aluminium panels featured within the standard car.

The new BMW M5 will feature an F1 style KERS brake energy regeneration system with an electric motor located in the cars transmission. Tests carried out within BMW's German testing facility have shown the car to be surprisngly capable , Stored energy is released by a Ferrari style switch on the steering colulm which allows the energy to be unleashed, which causes the car to accelerate like a rocket. The system has been developed so that the driver can feel it instantly.

Still no service.

Word for tomorrow : Supercapacitors.

M:KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System)

@ Twin Parallell Supercapacitors between the driveshaft providing 10 sec power boost at the press of a button.

I think that is the only electrical option to store the energy..
Your mechanical option will be spring loaded storage.

Marty: Doc! Isn't that completely dangerous??

Doc.: Marty.. Marty. It will be absolutely safe. As long as it can accelerate the car to 88-mph, we should be fine. I am the Doc right?

Marty: .... r-i-ght.

Sorry, that sentence by Scott reminded of Back to the Future :D

I was hoping for words like "GTS" and "Supersport" :D

+1

And now, let's do the news...

BMW will be offering a Z4 GT3 powered by a 480bhp version of the S65 V8 for private racing teams. Since BMW unveiled the M3 GTS several months after unveiling the M3 GT4, will there be a Z4 GTS to compete with the 911 GT3 RS? Let's hope so!

As part of its customer racing programme, BMW Motorsport is offering private teams another attractive car from 2010: the BMW Z4 GT3. This sports car is an impressive addition to the BMW product range and offers drivers and teams the opportunity to compete in international and national championships in accordance with GT3 regulations – such as the FIA GT3 European Championship, International GT Open and the ADAC GT Masters – as well as in 24-hour endurance races.

The BMW Z4 GT3 is powered by a four-litre, eight-cylinder engine producing approximately 480 bhp. When it comes to electronics, the private teams can look forward to innovative BMW solutions, which have proven themselves in the BMW M3 GT2: the engine is controlled by the modern ECU 408, while the Power400 control unit is responsible for operating all actuators. The transmission takes place via a sequential, six-speed gearbox. The scope of delivery also includes rims with locking and safety clips, as well as racing ABS and optional air conditioning.

The BMW Z4 GT3 in its racing version is available from the second quarter of 2010 at an estimated price of 298,000 Euro (plus VAT).

So Scott... enough about the F10 M5 (thanks for the insight!), let's hear some more about the 135i GTS and the new 1er M Supersports.
If you can, put some Z4 GTS in as well! :eusa_pray

This is the clam before the storm. BMW will not pass the opportunity to confirm its position as a sporty brand before there is time for a new M book to be written.

It s about time for new m-book

Those heavy cruiseships with souped upped AG engines with hairblowers on it we have seen enough. It s time again for smaller lighter and proper race engines which sets youre hair on fire.
