X5 BMW iX5 Rumors

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
Everything is possible.

Mind BMW still plans to have at least 12 BEV models (MINI, BMW & Rolls-Royce) in the portfolio by 2025, and at least 13 PHEV models.

Currently there is just 1 BEV available (i3), Mini Cooper SE coming this year, iX3 in 2020, i4 and iNext in 2012. So 5 BEVs in 2021, so additional 7 coming between 2021 and 2025.

PHEVs today: Mini Countryman PHEV, i8 coupe, i8 roadster, X1 (currently available in China only; other markets will get it with X1 LCI), 2er AT, 3er, 5er, 7er, X5, X3 & X7 PHEVs also coming. So, 11 PHEVs already, at least 2 new coming by 2025. 1er 5dr hatchback will definitely be one of them.

And those are conservative "at least" estimates. I guess we can expect even more of BEVs & PHEVs by BMW Group by 2025, not only 12+13.

An iX5 is inevitable.

The real BMW electric offense kicks into full gear with the BMW’s next generation CLAR II modular platform and the associated BMW 5th generation electric propulsion systems.
Consider this; Just the 48 volt mild hybrid systems alone that BMW is set to introduce with CLAR II modular platform cars are going to be as capable as today’s PHEV drivetrains (in terms of electric motor power & efficiency) yet more efficient & cheaper to manufacture!...and remember we’re just talking 48v mild-hybrid NOT PHEV & full BEV yet! Imagine the potential for next-generation PHEVs! Hint: ALL BMW M cars built on the CLAR II modular platform (both M-performance & full M cars) will be hybrids

An iX5 is inevitable.

Is not this space supposed to be covered by the i-next?
or the i-next is an advance of the next generation of X5?
With the i versions, things were confused, I think the panorama will be clarified when i4 comes out and let's see how it is and how its counterpart 4 Series GC coexists.

We can ask that about the Mercedes-Benz EQC against the GLC?or indeed Audi Q8 or E-Tron? What I think is that we are looking at the market being over saturated with EVs just as it is with SUVs today. The Electric models on everybody's profit and sales sheet will be EV SUVs.
