That's the sweetest M3 video yet! When dude pasted those cars on the freeway, (:D) it honestly looked like they were standing still!! Before I forget, the camera man did the damn thing! He could teach some of the best a thing or two about how to maximize the shot!:eusa_clap

and you are the only one understanding him. what did he have to say, did he like the car or did he complain?

Re: AW E92 M3: Dutch Test Video

Ok, small transcript:

The guy calling the car's telephone was asking for a ride in the new M3, but he was too late; they were already on the Autobahn in Germany.... :D :D

He says at 273 km/h the rev limiter kicks in, and then the car falls back to 270 km/h, and then you go to 273 again....

'The car is revving to 8400 rpm!!!! Craaazzyy!!! Faaaasst!'

'I expected the car to be sork of 'weak' in a high gear, but that is not really the case. When driving 80 km/h in 6th gear, it is easy to pull very smoothly away'

'BUT, when you start to rev the car a little more, you notice how much the engine really likes that'

'in-cre-di-ble'

Some technical stuff we all can say in our dreams already (hp, Nm, power buttons, etc)

Rev-matching works more smoothly when the Power button is turned ON

The difference in settings is pretty noticeable. On 'hard' setting, they agreed the car's pretty rough

ESP settings: on, off and M dynamic mode. M dynamic mode let's you, he says, take the car for a little drift before ESP taks over. Much fun!

'Something personal from me: I think this latest M3 is just :icondrool :icondrool :icondrool in looks'

In the last part he is talking what he would have to do to be able to buy one of these cars.....

Re: AW E92 M3: Dutch Test Video

Yep, Vmax unlimited to 270km/h comes with M Drivers Package (including mandatory performance driving school lessons!).

At least in some European markets.

Dealer told me 280 is the limit.
 :t-hands:

Re: AW E92 M3: Dutch Test Video

280km/h when M5 is raised to 305km/h. Isnt the M3 faster than 300km/h? ;)

Re: AW E92 M3: Dutch Test Video

I think the Driving school is part of the Package, but it's not mandatory - it's "just" a "coupon"...And yes, it's 280km/h delimited.

is there a reason why only 280km/h when its 305km/h for M5?

Re: AW E92 M3: Dutch Test Video

10 km/h +/- is not the Question.
personaly need more speed in curves nd corners on country roads (Bavaria! :t-hands: )
but 2,5k Euro for 20km/h ?:t-crazy2:
really crazy!

mandatory !
Limit off after 2 Day drive lessons

Don't know, but my guess is marketing reasons, there should be a difference between M5 and M3. Furthermore also the CSL is 280 km/h, that may be another reason. Imagine an M3 passing a CSL on Autobahn...

Best regards, south

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
