3 Series BMW E90 M Sport vs. SE ride height difference?

The BMW 3 series is a line of compact executive cars manufactured by the German automaker BMW since May 1975. BMW's best selling model, it is the successor to the 02 series. Since 2013, the coupé and convertible models have been marketed as the 4 Series. The M version of the 3 series, the M3, debuted with the E30 M3 in 1986.

Hi guys, I have an E90 Sport Plus edition, but when ordering I went for the comfort suspension. As such, although I'm happy with the suspension compromise, what I'm not happy about is the fact that the M Sport models tend to be lowered compared to SE models. Therefore, can you guys please tell me the ride height difference between them?

Secondly, in order to rectify the issue, I was thinking of getting the Eibach Pro Kit which lowers by 30mm front and 25mm rear. Would this be enough or more than the lowering of the M Port models?

Lastly, RFT tyres. BMW WTF?!? Thinking of going for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. Seem to be the best all round performance tyre right now. The Potenza's suck!

Thanks in advance!

Not sure about E90 but M chassi is lowered 15 mm on my 1-series.

I replaced my runflats with normal tyres after one season, I use Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric (1) on my car. I'm happy with them. They are also good in the wet which is important to me.

PS check this link . BMW performance suspension kit:

This new aggressive package lowers the vehicle by 25 mm compared to the standard suspension and by 10mm when compared to the sport suspension. Spring rates are increased 48% compared to standard suspension and 34% compared to the sports suspension.

You know what goes best with Eibach Pro Kit?

The Bilstein yellow springs :D

Even better, the upside-down version ;)

Hi guys, thanks for the responses. Well if the 1 series M Sport is only 15mm lower, then my lowering should be alright. The BMW performance suspension is very firm. Apparently it's firmer than the M versions so not for me I'm afraid. Additionally the cost is also very high, you're looking at around 1000 GBP for the kit minus labour!

Giannis, I don't want to start tinkering too much with the suspension, I'm content with the handling but it's the aesthetics of lowering that I'm after. Apparently the Eibach has little or no effect on the ride quality so all good.

JustMe, I read your views in the Eagle F1 for your 1 series thanks. It seems to be the best all-round tyre, beaten only by the likes of Michelin's Pilot Super Sport.

Thanks gents.
