Not a fan of these adaptive things. It's like the older steptronic boxes, where there was some adaptive features to it, like it wouldn't shift up if you suddenly press hard on the throttle, especially up a hill, and you would need to purposely go very light on the throttle for the next 10seconds or so so that the system knows that you are not going hard again, and that's why i've always been in manual model - well most of the time.
This one is even more scary, it's going to sense a corner in front and maybe shift a gear down for me without letting me know it'll do it? yes i will have to "get used to it" and end up it is me who is adaptive to the gearbox. Of course the non-driver people who drives don't even know what a gearbox is and dont' even know what a gear change is, in that case, a system like this probably won't worry them, probably makes them feel their car is faster or something but this is not what an ultimate driving machine needs. With all the GPS and cameras and DSC info, why not just drive for me.
