It looks more like a nice station wagon :D

BTW, Jon, you have some amazing skills! Amazing!

Yep, just a sleeker 5-Series Touring.

BMW should probably just give up on the 4-door coupe, slick wagon theme at this level and just bring back that stunning CS concept.

These 5/6 derivatives just don't look much sleeker than the cars they're already based on to justify their being produced IMO.

I just can't wait for reactions when people see the Gran Coupé next to a 5er and realise how vastly different it looks.
Paris can't come soon enough, because comments like these will not be made after Paris anymore ;)

In essence Jon Sibal has captured the appearance of the "Shooting Brake" because of the angles he has chosen to represent his ideas there is some details which are not evident such as how the roofline is more coupe like to the rear when looking side on.
When lined up against a conventional 5er Touring in this case the F11, The 5er is much taller , whereas the Shooting Brake sits much lower and has a more sloping roof towards the rear of the car , The rear quarter light is smaller than the 5er Touring.

Overall there are distinguishable details between the shooting Brake and the Touring. The Gran Coupe is similar when compared to the height of both the 5er and 7er. In order of height when facing the car , the order is Gran Coupe , 5er , 7er. there is a noticable difference between these cars.

The Gran Coupe has had an additional twin in the form of the Shooting Brake ,conceived because within the Premium segment it has become apparent that there are customers looking for the next stage in a luxury automobile. Other BMW's that formed this idea included the stillborn CS Concept and car's that made it to production the BMW X6 and BMW 5er Gran Turismo.

Shooting Brake is seen as initially the "second car" The car that will be used mostly at the weekend for the customer who works in the city and retires to his weekend retreat in the Hamptons are whatever?
The car that will fullfill the weekend requirements , Golf @ the Country Club , purchasing a piece of antique furniture , Polo , A trip to the beach etc, all in luxury

The split tailgate entails a classic "Shooting Brake" style in which a picnic can be laid on the lowerhalf of the tailgate or could be used as a temporary seat to watch the afternoons proceedings of an event.

It uses the evocative "Gran Turismo" titile because it shows like the F07 It is all about travelling in style.

SCOTT, you´ve mentioned before that in Paris we will see a more production ready version of the Gran Coupe. Could that version be a 6er Shooting Brake car, with the final interior?.

I like the way you think!

If the GT5 looked like that, all the negative comments that I've typed in the past would of been non-existent.

The 6er Shooting Brake of the 6er Gran Coupe has today been Green-lit for production.
It will stand alongside the production 6er Gran Coupe.

Both the 6er Gran Coupe and 6er Shooting Brake will be seen as exclusive , emotional luxury performance cars.

Are you sure the 6er shooting break wont kill the bmw 5er touring sales???? and will it have 2 doors or 4 doors ???

The future of my brand looks :icondrool

As klier mentioned...Paris can't come soon enough:t-cheers:
