BMW Deep Orange 4 concept unveiled

Features a split opening tailgate and a power retractable glass rear window
BMW and students from the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research have teamed up to create a one-off concept based on the X3.

Dubbed Deep Orange 4, the concept has a sloped roofline and a new tailgate with a power retractable glass rear window. The crossover has also been equipped with a split side opening tailgate which allows easy access to the cargo bed.

The end result isn't particularly attractive but the concept was designed to be a low-volume variant that would only cost up to $8,000 more than the standard model.
