In theory, it may. Surely vapourware at this point. But in countering your presumption, I took the liberty of farting around with this conceptionally and expressed this in the forum's dedicated thread.
If we look at the 2002,E21 and E30 those cars are now essentially the 2/M2. The E36 started the change that would eventually lead to an all new designation. Neue-Klasse can work on a Coupe but it needs to be one hell of a design that can accommodate a far sportier profile to match its forebears.

Delete two doors from the M Concept Neue Klasse and you have the ultimate coupe, IMHO.

As a side note, the E30 was the first and last to offer first the two-door version before the four-door; things changed after that.

E30, E36, E46 <---- E92 ---> F32, G22

I love the E92 as the perfect fusion of modern design with analog(ish) driving experience. And it was still a 3-box coupe while having a sportier design... F32/G22 all downhill design wise and I prefer the sedan counterparts for those for sure.

Yeah, the F32 was pure shite.

Definitely a dog of a design, I mean who in their right minds would be happy with a car like this. Tasteless twats.
