Hot! BMW AG: What's Next

"Doable" as a series production vehicle...with a relatively high degree of accuracy ?

It could be an absolutely epic automobile for the ages. A Typ 120/E9 "CS moment". Only even more stylistically enduring and...everfresh.

C'mon BMW-let's do this ! NUR MUT !
Exactly, it would be a brilliant moment and would go down in history; I even see features of the 6 Series E24 in it. Dreaming costs nothing.

His vision of an E24 6er successor apparently. And simply sublime IMHO, regardless of whether it is heavily AI assisted or not.

I've always been a fan of the F12/13/06 6ers. But automotive design has evolved quite rapidly since their hayday some 15 years ago. And the E24 is now a genuine, certified classic. The "F" 6ers...no so much. Yet.

NKL is the brand new and future BMW design paradigm. And as for me, I'm very impressed. BMW has aced this.

This car looks excessively obese. It's not aesthetically pleasing at all, it's too round.

Will there be a new 6/8 series?
Judging by the success of the Skytop, BMW might have more success reskinning unwanted units, selling for a premium or under the Alpina brand than producing a 6/8 successor.

Sometimes you can generate greater financial success by slightly repackaging a product and selling it to more wealthy customer base.

They are making/have made 50 Skytops. That's not judging anything.
A new 4er coupe is an absolute given though.

This obsession here with vaporware AI slop is just out of control BTW. Jesus Christ.
Nothing Sugar design has ever made is close to reality. Post that junk in the AI thread next time please.

Well down the road, should it in fact ever come to fruition, a larger "NKL-Evo", 5000+mm in length ALPINA 4 door EV GT may be a distinct possibility. It would be a manifestation of the Maximillian Missoni/ALPINA "vision" and is obviously, at least conceptually, occupying the minds of BMW AG corporate product planners. Not that this is a given, mind you.

But at least to me, this would appear an obvious template for a concept in maybe 2-3 years time. Following some time to assess the response to the AMG.EA 4 door GT, the Polestar 5 and on the heels of the introduction of the VAG SSP Sport Taycans/Audi etron GTs ?

On another note,

I always whatever random website I visit, see BMW paid ads. They are everywhere, and I never see anything Mercedes related. BMW seems to be much more on top of marketing, and maybe that's part of why they're so much more successful at the moment:

Stuff like this is everywhere. On random non car sites. Always Mini and BMW.

Isn't that because the ads are targeted based on your past internet history, and you're clearly going to be seen as a potential BMW customer rather than a MB customer?

I was thinking that yes, but these are paid ads and not randomly generated? Then again, I have no actual idea how this works in the end, it could indeed very well be algorithms pointing towards what I like.

I don't really frequent BMW sites over other car sites, except for maybe Bimmerpost (and BMW.com)

I'm just guessing here...

I would think that reputable internet automotive discussion platforms (and considering German Car Forum as being one of them) will attract corporate automotive industry professionals, such as design department personnel, to "drop by" for a look and see in order to attempt to gauge relevant potential consumer sentiment. Many may be simply "lurkers", incognito and refraining from commenting. But that does not mean that they are not harvesting and processing information, regardless of whether that be heavily AI assisted illustrations, handcrafted sketches or member comments. It's all information, and that is an immensely important commodity.

No doubt, they are all here lurking.

We should be paid.

Paid ads are still deeply targeted. Often not correctly, but absolutely targeted. If you're logged into google most of the time go to myadcenter.google.com to see what google thinks it should be showing you.
