Hot! BMW AG: What's Next

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
The 43 model had a true AMG engine, but the rest weren't much different from the standard series. BMW is no different. BMW paved the way, then Mercedes built the wall.
So it comes to the exact same thing. There was nothing wrong or “ridiculous” with BMW counting them as M sales. 😃

It was Audi with the S models, that paved the way
Since you bring it up, for informational purposes, Audi Sport delivered around 36,000 high-performance vehicles (–13 percent) to customers in 2025.

According to Gemini:
*Audi Sport includes the RS range (the most extreme, such as RS 3, RS 6, RS Q8) and S range (such as S3, SQ5), which are sporty versions of the regular models.

If includes both lines, it sounds like very little.

Are you sure that's not just Germany, for the entire world it appears very lite.

This is in the report regarding global sales; the only possibility is that somehow only RS models are included and the S models not?

This illustrates that BMW, together with the other German brands, needs to work on improving the safe use of controls in their vehicles (ergonomics etc.) without putting every single activation in the screen.

It's environmentally wasteful. If features are deeply burried in menus or as complex to access as the registry in Windows Vista, then owners won't end up using the features.

How is this even possible? This was operated by a button on the steering wheel, not even a button on the dash. What's the excuse here?

I thought the Mercedes Benz were not perfect, but that’s a disaster IMHO.

I'm not 100% sure, but wasn't it the opposite with Audi? I mean, they startet with the S models 1st as a clear step up from the regular models. Then later came the RS models as an even more extreme variant. F.I. the S2 came around 1990, while the RS2 showed up 3+ years later. So, there was no watering down approach in case of Audi?
