Hot! BMW AG: What's Next

There is to be an Alpina deep dive soon where they will no doubt release the bottom half of the image of 2 covered cars. You already know what they are.

G72 B7 and G65(?) XB7?

It doesn't look like they'll be using the 'B' nomenclature, and since they're going to offer multiple models of Alpina for 7, i7, X7 and iX7 - and because it's what they're marketing it as, I'd imagine we're looking at either "BMW-Alpina 7xx /X7 xx"... or "BMW 7xx/X7 xx Alpina".

I don't see this ending up as anything other than an exterior and interior styling package - or at very best an extension of Individual does, with perhaps a slice of the kind of personalisation that Goodwood offers.

Well it's got its own internal product code, so I think it'll be a bit more substantial than that. Here's hoping at least.

I think Alpina this time around are going to focus more on the upper echelon models for the GKL Klasse luxury market. Marketed presently as Bayerische Motoren Werke.

The bespoke Skytop and Speedtop are still marketed under that branding. But I agree there is certainly room in Alpina to go completely bespoke here.

In my opinion, BMW should focus the Alpina on luxury and elegance. In the $200,000-$300,000 price range, most buyers are middle-aged and generally prefer comfort and sophistication over a sporty feel. Using the Alpina to do what the M Sport model does would be a waste.

BMW's electric vehicle sales in the US fell by 45% in the last quarter.

They only love gas guzzling V8s lol. Glug Glug Glug.

Its amazing how low the sales of the 2series and 3series are compared to the BMW SUV's. The X5 and even X7 sold more than 3 series.
Exactly (y)

Both are available with pure V8s without big batteries. That explains it, I am also surprised how well they sold compared to the 3 series.
I guess BMW needs to put the S68 in the next M3, problem solved.

Its even worse for Mercedes Benz with the terrible 4-cylinder in the C63 must be a sales disaster in the US.

government incentives removed on evs and phevs is the reason for the drop off ?

Does seem to be the obvious answer.

75% of the annual decline came in Q4, i.e. after government incentives were pulled. The i4 saw the biggest unit fall and that could easily be because of potential buyers might be waiting for the NK as well as lack of incentives.
