Agreed, a new 760i is more of a sports-car than a Lotus Elan because it goes around the ring quicker.
Sure, you just keep comparing cars that are 30 years apart.

It's arguably BMWs bread and butter. The M3/4 is _the_ BMW.They better not get rid of them. Life would be so boring without coupes, lol.
It'd be nice if BMW made a RWD drop top 2 seater is all I'm saying. Chop the lid off an M2 if you have to. Make it happen.
It's a dilemma making a business case of a cabrio these days I think. I think the collaboration with Toyota is stopping after this. Perhaps merging the 4 and 8 cabrio to a 6 cabrio would work? That would be a 4 seater, and BMW already has two 4 seat cabrios. And of course a 2 seat Roadster called Z4, maybe you have heard of it
And a cabriolet 2er is 100% not happening. There's already choice enough and that car wouldn't sell enough to warrant R&D. Just chopping up the lid is not going to work clearly.
The present 2er would have made a fine Cabrio. Imagine the M2 as one? That would be a 4 seater, and BMW already has two 4 seat cabrios. And of course a 2 seat Roadster called Z4, maybe you have heard of it

I believe worst case scenario is no new 8er.
That the combination of a wide body and a convertible works can be seen on the CLE53 Cabrio.
I believe worst case scenario is no new 8er and 4er limited to an i4 GC. The current 4er GC is everywhere here, you might see 5 GCs per each coupe you get across. No cabrios at all.
The thing is it looks really good with four doors, so I get the sales ratio. And seeing how practical BMW and other brands are becoming in just putting into the market cars thar actually move units, I can imagine green lighting anything with 2 doors is hard.Yeah over here it's probably way worse. Like twenty GCs for every coupe/cabrio.
cabriolet suvSomeone already made a render of it.![]()
Looks lovely if you ask me.
I hope the the EV NK models also drop below the 3/4 series and also include a 1/2 series
The i3 was 15 years ahead of its time. It's still cutting edge in design and concept today.I hope the the EV NK models also drop below the 3/4 series and also include a 1/2 series or better yet BMW makes a proper replacement for the i3, the iX1 was not what i3 owners wanted. BMW built nearly 300k i3's, most of the people I know who owned them have not replaced them with a BMW or MINI product.
