Nokia??? You serious man?

Actually yes. I have two mobile phone numbers and for this reason I have a Microsoft Lumia 550 and a Nokia 6300i.

The Nokia is very solid, the battery still lasts a few days and it has survived pretty much anything. It works flawlessly, so I don't see why I should spend the equivalent of two months alcohol expenses to buy a state-of-the-art smartphone, which I don't need.

:)

Hard to fault that logic! I had a Nokia back in like 99,2000. Friends use to kill my battery playing the snake game :hilarious:. Then I upgraded once the Nextel with the walkie talkies came out,and haven't seen a Nokia since. The fact that you've had a cell phone for a decade is impressive.

Bu the alcohol expense is a necessity? :D

I was wondering... if anyone has idea when are we going to see some work of Jozef Kaban?

What will be the first model under his design direction?

Next 7er and iNext to some degree but I think his real first car will be the next 5er.

BMW i is now under design control of Domagoj Djukec (ex boss of BMW brand exterior design chief), who has become BMW i & BMW M design chief. So, Next i will be done under Djukec.

Kaban? Various LCIs of the upcoming models will be done under him; and he will take over the new 2er & 4er design processes which are already in progress. But first new Mks completely under his supervision will be the new 7er & the new X1, both coming in 2022 - their design processes will start in late 2018 & early 2019 respectively. And X8, if greenlighted.

3 years before the unveiling ? i thought the norm was to have the design kick early on in the global dev phse (ehich itself is said to start right after the last iteration is launched) so maybe 4-5 years before a model is launched and that would mean that next 7er will have it design starts right now or in early 2018.

@ Enl,Scott
In which model and when will BMW introduce the 48V system and the e-boost for the turbo?

From Stern mag:

"BMW-Entwicklungsvorstand Klaus Fröhlich: ""Mit unserer Strategie Number One, Next haben wir entschieden: Wir optimieren den Verbrennungsmotor - ob Benziner oder Diesel - weiter. Unsere Fahrzeuge mit Verbrennungsmotor statten wir bis 2025 durchgängig mit elektrischen Rekuperationssystemen von zwölf und 48 Volt aus."

It must be much earlier than 2025. I suppose either this or the next year.

It seems that BMW has run out of ideas and turned to fruit and vegetables for ideas:

^To me, it is more surprising that it hasn't been until now that they communicate it ... this is pretty old hat. They must have conducted that kind of biotech-related research for a while already.
No sign of running-out-of ideas, however.
