Sometimes, I have the overwhelming urge to ask certain people if they partake in recreational drugs.
If I stop ignoring JD I should start ignoring ADAC as the results are quite different...
Tell me ONE reason to do so? If JD is right in some cases that would make ADAC wrong...
So why is ADAC wrong? Do you understand that I really don't care but I'm using my brain and can tell a reliable source when I see it? Let's go ruin a Benz thread, Marcus? I'm sure you'll back off pretty soon there![]()
Who said that ADAC was wrong? Again another answer to something no one asked. I explained this in the other thread, they're obviously using different criteria in a different country with a different model mixture. Different consumers also.
Nobody said you should ignore ADAC. They're probably right on what they measure just as JDP is on what they measure. The way this board is now I don't care if you did ruin a Benz thread. I'm just shocked by now the BMW faithful still disregard anything negative about BMW, all the while knowing about rusty seat frames and suspension parts. That is AMAZING.
What makes ADAC any more reliable than JDP? Please due tell. Is the ADAC the same group that counts a flat tire as a breakdown?
M
Is that really the topic, Marcus?
I have nothing against anyone trusting JP! Just don't expect everyone to bow down before them.
My initial point had nothing to do with reliability. Reliability isn't an issue for BMW AG at the moment. When/IF it starts hurting the sales and profits then I'll agree it is. All my postings were solely from a business point of view.
You asked me! Who said anything about bowing down? Man you're lost. Reliability isn't an issue for you or IYO. How do you know it isn't for BMW? I'm sure they'd like to get some of that warranty money back. You can't speak for BMW from a business standpoint and say that there is no problem when they're having to spend millions on fixing all kinds of issues. Flat wrong if you think it doesn't matter to them. Tell that to them while they fix rusty dashboards.
M
Tell me the same thing when they post their profit margins next time.
What makes you think that fixing most issues will turn out to be more profitable than taking it by the warranty.
Investing more in R&D could also kill their profits. I think they found the perfect balance. They know best.... and it shows.
PS: I'm here to make assumptions. It's a forum. It's all IMO by default!
We finally can agree to disagree. Cheers!
BMW AG..whats next?
More similar interiors
Less reliability
More X cars
Less thrilling cars
Soaring stock prices, until the market catches up to the cost savings. And then problemos
PS
Thought i would end your debate and start a new one
I lay my BLOOD on the line for the PEACE of this FORUM!!
Come at me!
The margin would probably be more if it weren't for having to fix so much. If you think they don't have a problem when we clearly see the problems then you're head is in the sand. There is no such thing as a perfect balance when you have to fix rusty dashboards and seats that costs the company real money. An absurd notion by a blind person.
M
I do agree that the rust issue is unacceptable the least. I was one of the first to say that it's a complete disgrace!
And I hated BMW so much for letting such a thing happen! It should be remembered!
Still... they managed to cover this issue up pretty well and most of the owners don't even know of it's existence...
It's a shame nevertheless! The balance is never perfect... not literally. Having way better profit margins than it's more reliable competitor has to say something, don't you agree? Isn't their money making formula better when the end result is THAT MUCH better? I'm just saying that BMW's way makes most money... whatever that way is it's a fact![]()
It is working for now. No one argued as to who makes the most money or why, again doesn't pertain to anything. When it catches up to them it won't be pretty.
M
Sometimes you act that if you were in my presence trying to make an issue out of anything deemed non-issue that just for your behaviour I would have to slap you repeatedly. But I am not but here is your answers to your questions.
Similar Interiors?
The new interior design language takes form in its simplicity and surfaces.
BMW interiors highlight the use of surfaces to give the customer a typical modern lounge feeling and justify this with the use of high quality materials , lighting and exceptional detail. BMW customers do not want a multitude of buttons which as we move to the next generation will become more minimalist such as the i3 and i8. It proves that the launch of iDrive in 2001 has come full circle as many found it difficult at first so as progress continued so did simplicity and a return to switchgear for some controls. But it is clear that iDrive will cover many more functions in this tech obsessed generation. Connectivity is huge and it affects how we use our cars today , BMW Vision ConnectedDrive showed the tip of the iceberg. The all-new BMW 7er will offer connectivity never before seen in a production car.
Less thrilling cars.
The automotive landscape has been altered with the advent of emission legislation , this is actually becoming more of an issue with the customer as is status and compentcy.
Yet each new BMW can remain the benchmark of the segment yet retain what is a BMW. But while the cars progress so does the customer for many valid reasons especially efficiency as in some markets the level of efficiency is important because it can affect their wallet thanks to extra taxation. With a BMW you get originality. Some competitors are obsessed with BMW that they set out to deliberately mimic a BMW and because of this they completely overlook their originality. If customers want a BMW they get a BMW no matter what segment.
****! I ruined a whole forum with a single thread! I'm da master!
