Hot! BMW AG: What's Next

Interestingly, the xDrive40 has 394hp, but the RWD version stays at 340hp. Combined with the M4 changes where the xDrive Comp gets 530hp, but the non xDrive Comp stays at 510hp, BMW is making distinctions between RWD and 4WD in terms of power.

This is how all EVs are. RWD only has one motor, AWD has two. It would be very artificial to limit it and have both the RWD and AWD versions to make the same power.

The M4 isn't an EV. The reason I imagine they have different power outputs for AWD and RWD models is due to traction. Giving an RWD car an extra 30 horsepower will be useless if it can't get the power down as effectively.

11th February is the Super Bowl, so no doubt whatever ad this is will be premiered during the half-time.

I found somewhere...that it will be the i5, which makes a lot of sense, starring this cool legend

A great year begins for the brand, since without rest, they begin in 2024 with

New 5 series (at full speed, first full year?)
New 5 Series Touring
New M5
New M5 touring (later)
New X2
New Mini Cooper ICE
New Mini EV
New Mini Countryman
New Mini Aceman (mid-year)
LCI 4 Series
M4 CS
M2 CS?

Surely I'm missing something, the new X3?
In any case they will be quite busy, hopefully they will present some surprises in the form of concepts

Indeed, G45 X3 will also be launched this year (Summer I presume). Also have the idea we’ll get to see a sneak peek of Neue Klasse iX3 this year, based on one of @bmwblog recent publications, maybe a near-production concept?

BMW AG, what's NOT next?

BMW i16 is the radical i8 successor that never was
Officially published by BMW chief Domagoj Dukec on Instagram

According to him, it was the production version of M-Next, or one of the options?, showing it is like a slap in the ass to the fans and perhaps a sign that they will never do it, ......again

It's a shame because it looks very impressive.

It has several nods to the beautiful Turbo concept from 1972 and the M1.

But sadly, i16 was cancelled as it has no uprising window/belt line, which means it wasn't edgy nor disruptive ;)
This example does show that they fine tuned the dramatic visually chiselled features of M-Next for production. Basing it on the i8 structure would be beneficial for costs and overall investment.

Jesus… Someone taking decissions there in Munich must be REALLY stupid.

This looks insanely good!
