Woof. These designs just don't sit well with me. None of the German automakers seem to have all around hits except for Porsche these days.

Don't know about iNext, but for EQS - it is Mercedes that set the expectation of 50k sales this year.
It sells for half the S-series in Europe and the US. This is what Mercedes wanted. Sales in China will determine success.

Please stop. Here is you quoting Mercedes -

Media report: Daimler plans to sell up to 50,000 EQS in 2022

“This is for you, world” is the claim of the marketing campaign for the new EQS from Mercedes-Benz. That the world will receive the gift of the first fully electric luxury sedan with the star from now on with equally open arms is the firm belief and hope at the Stuttgart headquarters. As Handelsblatt claims to have learned from corporate circles, the inventor of the automobile is calculating with annual EQS sales of up to 50,000 vehicles from 2022. This is a very ambitious plan that would catapult the EQS from scratch to a bestseller level. Just for comparison: the combustion S-Class managed to sell around 60,000 units last year. This made it the best-selling luxury sedan in the world.

And till end of Q3 they have sold just 13.9k. Forget 50k, they won't even be close to hitting half that.

EQS is a grand f#cking sales flop by Mercedes' own standard. No need to sugar coat it.

These are rumors. I haven't heard anyone from Mercedes say that.

Lol, wtf man. You posted it! The articles in your post quotes Mercedes CFO -

But: "Demand is at the level of the S-Class," Automobilwoche quotes a statement made by Daimler CFO Harald Wilhelm in a conference call with journalists on the group's business development in the third quarter of 2021. From January to September 2021, Mercedes-Benz sold just over 62,000 units of the Mercedes S-Class. If the demand for the EQS is actually at the level of the combustion engine S-Class, then it will be much better received by customers than Mercedes-Benz itself expected. For 2022, the star calculated 50,000 EQS sold.

Maybe read your own posts before posting?

Here is another post, again by you, where Mercedes claims it is so happy with "orders" it expects to sell 80,000! And is even starting a 3rd shift at the factory! :ROFLMAO:

I do not prepare these articles. I'm just sharing. That doesn't mean I believe them.

The possibility is mentioned in the article. If there were 80,000 sales, it would be twice as expected.

"If the incoming parts in the USA and China were also to develop at the level of the S-Class, the annual volume would be 80,000 units, which is around twice as high as Mercedes-Benz's expectations."

Anyone want to take any bets on how the cashmere interior is going to wear? Looks like my grandmother is going with mineral white exterior and cashmere interior. All of her previous light-colored interior cars required serious detail work when one of the more automotive-minded family members came to visit due to dye transfer.

No idea about cashmere, but in clothing form it's not something that stains particularly more than other fabrics.
Is it a M sport grandmother or non M sport?

How many miles does she put on her cars per year?

I would expect it could become grubby over the years and much use as does fabric interiors. They do have a non-abrasive cleaning product for it under BMW’s own line of products.

2-3k has been the norm since 2018 or so. Earlier in life she and my grandfather were big roadtrippers though. I'll never forget them buying a brand new 2011 Flying Spur and immediately taking it on 5000 mile road trip a week later.

That's kind of what I'm thinking too. It'll be lightly used at least.
