Would you believe I still have this issue in storage?

Absolutely loved this car!

Thanks Christian!

Definitely one of my all-time favourite BMWs...
Thanks for the article mate!!!

Thanks for the article! This truly is one of greatest sport coupés of the latest decades. Unfortunatley it's rather rare, because I prefer its looks over the 6 series ... will we get a real successor once??

April 1994 issue of Roundel. :wow: Only 225 sold in US, I believe. I sometime think of buying one someday.

The 850csi was and is still a car I'd love to own.

Hope the new 8-series coupoon (coupe-saloon) will be even better.

A few years ago, there were rumours that a 850i with a M5 engine was built for a BMW director (reputed to be for Wolfgang Reitzle). But he left BMW before he took delivery. Car was said to have been stored in BMW's basement carpark for many years. Maybe it has been scrapped by now.

this car has been one of my long standing dreams, but with the rpice of fuel and me ot having a credible income for the time being (hey i'm still in college :D) there is no way i could satisify my need

I'm seriously considering of buying one next year...:eusa_pray

i have a similar thought in my mind these days. I want to invest in a classic Bimmer, too, most probably a 2002..

But my father says there's no point in paying for an old car (he already doesn't like my classic cars addiction), and the wife prefers spending money in clothes rathers than old Bimmers, and i don't have anymore room in my garage (i already put three cars in a two cars garage...

Hehe! Build a new garage!! :D In my opinion, now is the time to buy some "cheap" classics. The prices will definitely increase in the next years, I think. And some cars like the BMW 635 CSi or 850i are definitely become a classic - maybe not comparable to a 300 SL :D - but a classic!

I can't find any old 6er or 8er here in Greece, but a nice 2002 is very easy to find, and i think you can buy one for less than 1000€

I'm in need of a car because I got a job offer in South Carolina and have looked at this one. Problem is, even after all these years, they are still not that cheap and my guess is that maintenance would be a nightmare if something were to happen.

So I looked at E39 540i's which can be bought at a decent price. But the problem is that their cooling system is notorious for failing like clockwork.

So instead, I'm looking at an E46 325 or 335i... either coupe or sedan. I guess I'll make another thread once I know more

This is without a doubt, the ugliest car BMW ever made......

Even when i was little i couldnt force myself to like it, i thought it look dated right after its arrival and was like 10 at the time, maybe younger. The problem wasnt so much the proportions eather, which could be compared to a door stop, but the details or lack of. The lights, look barely put together and the rubber seals on the panels were noticably big..

Anyway, not my favorite. But to each his own, right. :t-cheers:
