I think the benefits of having a hardtop are pretty self-evident. Aren't they?

BMW did this because they're a technology-driven company, and full-sized hardtops have finally come of age.

well your probably right, having a hardtop convertable is the best of both worlds for some people, and the buyers they are looking for especially may believe that. For me, part of what makes convertables special is the rag top itself. but hey, whatever sells. BMW knows their market.

BMW has released the first official images of the 3 Series Convertible equipped with the latest M Sport package. The kit is available on all engine variants and includes an M Aerodynamic body styling package, a stiffened sport suspension that rides 15mm lower and 18in M multispoke light alloy wheels fitted as standard. In addition to this, there are also the high-gloss shadow line window surrounds, and optional 19in M Double-spoke wheels.

Inside, all M Sport models feature sports seats upholstered in Blue Shadow cloth Alcantara, Individual anthracite headlining, M designation doorsill finishers and a short-shift leather-bound M gearlever. A brushed aluminium interior trim and M leather steering wheel complete the package. M Sport model cars are limited to six colors Titanium Silver, Black Sapphire, Le Mans Blue, Sparkling Graphite.
