Kudos to BMW for winning but the 1.9TDi engine the Audi has is ancient. It should be more than 10 years old. If it was the new 2.0 TDi the result could had been better.

Makes you wonder why didn't they chose the 2.0d and 2.0TDi to compete with the Merc.

Yannis, how did Audi allow the 1.9TDI to be used in the facelifted A4? Shouldn't it be phased out, or at least upgraded?

If the 1.8d can beat the competition, then the 2.0d should be even better. I'm a big big fan of diesels, but I have yet to try the 1.8d. I don't think it's too different from the 2 liter though.
