BMW Canada announces pricing for 2007 3 Series Coupes

Whitby, Ontario - BMW Canada has announced that the all-new 2007 3 Series Coupe will begin arriving at dealers in September, with a base price of $43,600. The line-up will include three variations: the 328i, 328xi and 335i.

All versions contain more powerful new engines, improved driving dynamics, new exterior styling, and more interior space than the previous models. A six-speed manual transmission, sport suspension, dynamic stability control and run-flat tires with tire pressure monitor are standard on all coupes, while xDrive all-wheel drive is available for the first time in a coupe.

The 328i uses the latest version of BMW's 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder, with an output of 230 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. The 328i also includes 17-inch wheels and Xenon adaptive headlights with integral cornering lights; its base $43,600 price is $500 over the 325Ci it replaces. The 328xi coupe includes all-wheel drive and will retail for $46,100.

The 335i coupe will feature the world debut of BMW's inline six-cylinder with twin turbochargers, direct fuel injection and all-aluminum crankcase, producing 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque, and will retail for $51,600.

Just $51600 Canadian dollars!!! What a performance bargain the 335i is!!! Great job BMW!!

In Canada, the outgoing 2006 E46 M3 was $74400 CAD. The competing 2006 CLK350 was $66240 CAD, while the 2006 CLK500 was $78800 CAD. (2007 prices for these cars not available yet).

Wow, that really is a bargain. I've been reading in various forums how people are complaining that the 335i will roll out of the dealerships at at least $40 (US), which is quite expensive for a 3 series.

Canadian dollar has been strong over the past year. $40,000 USD is an even better deal for Canadians if converted at the rate of 1.12. its about $45,000 CAD. Thats almost $6,000 off the listed!

Anyone know how to import an American car into Canada?

I was just browsing some prices, and there is a huge discrepency for the caymen S. in canada its $85,000 CAD, but in US its $58,000 USD! some serious arbitrage can be made here if i can figure out the logistics and the financing.

And taxes of course.

Dealer financing is practically impossible, so you need to buy it cash.

Most of the cost comes when the [new] car you buy from the US does not meet Canadian regulations (everything from having a speedometer in km, emissions, to safety). Most US cars are built to slightly different regulations and it can be very expensive and time consuming to comply with Canadian regulations.

There are also some manufacturers that will not honour the US warranty in Canada (and the same in the US on Canadian warranties) so you can face additional exposure there.
