Hopefully the bottom picture, that looks amazing!

I don't like the lights on the top picture!

i sure hope it dont..cause that isnt very exciting..it looks narrow in the front

The basic idea maybe, but trust me when I say that it will look different in real. Small details will make it look ten times better. That pic somehow looks very off to me.

The May issue of Car and Driver has a really good guesstimate picture too.

M

I took 2 pictures of Car and Driver's info about the E92. One picture is easier to read and one has less glare on the pictures.

Thanks for those pics bmwrules.. great stuff.

As for the pics themselves. Well, the picture of the rear is absolutely awesome. If it does turn out like that, I will be amazed and totally in love with that rear end. Also, those wheels on the lower pic, they are stunning and suit the car perfectly. As for the wheels on the pic of the car's front, those are shockingly ugly wheels ...and also, even after all the spypics we've seen, they've still got the kidney grille wrong. You can clearly seen that the grille is pushed in rather than being smooth and flush with the facial curve.

Other than that.. it's pretty good.

the area behind the rear window is wierd..and the trunk is to flat

yeh... i think that's coz those PS's are based off the 3er sedan with M-Sport pack...so it looks all awkward.

The grille's wrong.. even the mouth looks a bit wrong. Kind of suprising they could make such simple mistakes with the variety of spypics we've seen so far.

Good effort there... nice quick-job by the guy. (y)

Love the low-slung profile of the car and the looks... but I doubt the M6 style mouth will make it to the 3er. We've seen Huck's PS's...so I guess we should expect that coz he's nearly always right.

that M3 ps is not good enough.. it will look better than that..
and i pray to god that that they dont give it the Sad M6 look

Put my hands on a 335I COUPE today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (612 views) (1490 thread views)

Message: OK, here goes.

I just took a cruise through the BMWNA Corporate Engineering Center in Montvale NJ. For any of you interested in seeing what I did, and you live in Northern New Jersey..Do the following:

Take GSP Pkwy to Exit 172. Then Grand Ave East for about 100O feet and turn right onto Mercedes Benz Drive. At end, turn right and follow the road until you pass BMWNA. Just ahead you will see SONY corporate HQ of North America. In the back parking lot amongst other new BMW's there is the jackpot!! The cars are in the SONY parking lot, not BMW, but right next door. SONY security could care less that I was there. Either they could'nt give a damn, or they thought I was an employee as I was driving my M5.

There are two virtually undisguised 3 series coupes, a cammo'd '07 X3, and the New Generation X5 (heavily disguised).

I spent about ten minutes examining the coupes. You could just pull the black tape off the car and drive it home. It was street ready. Some info on car number one:

1. It was SG in color
2. Two tailpipes
3. Was CLEARLY marked 335i (just some electrical tape covering it) Don't doubt me as I touched and looked up close at the 335i badge. There was a BMWNA "demonstrator" window sticker laying on the passenger seat. Top line reads "2007 335i"
4. The interior in virtually identical to our 330i. Dash, instruments, etc, all the same (maybe a bit more compressed).
Even the door panels are exactly the same as the E90. Picture a 330i interior door panel stretched.
5. The steering wheel is similar to our E90 sport, but has "titanium" accents. Looked nice.
6. The seats were the same seats as our E90 Sport.
7. The only noticeable difference in the interior was the rear seating. The front center console (identical to E90) continues into the back seating area, then between the rear seats. Looks nice.
8. The grill is a seen in spy shots; no chrome tabs on the hood as in E90.
9. Too bad, but the only part of the car really covered up was the rear. Couldn't really see the tailights. I did, however, run my hands along the tape on the rear lights. They seem to extend in a similar manner to the E90 around the rear corners. Hard to explain. The do seem a bit more extreme, though.
10. Car seemes very low, and very wide. Side windows slanted in much more dramatically than the sedan. Otherwise, looks like an E90 coupe! Nothing to different, overall.
11. Wheels were 18" and looked nice. They were a large 5 spoke.

Info on second car:

1. Imagine all above points, but the badging said 328i!!!!!!

Ding Ding Ding!!

Some other info...Behind the BMW fence there was an e90 sedan, with dual tail pipes. Clearly a 335i. Couldn't get close to confirm as it was on BMW property, and behind a fence, with an M6.

X3 had more wood inside, a minor facelift, and Idrive.

The X5 was heavily cammo'd. And the interior: Think bigger 5 series.

So there you go. And yes, I was a moron for not bringing the digital camera. Questions??????

SO - We're gonna see a 328i next year are we?

Now I have all kinds of numbers to obsess over.... will they cut the price and boost hp? Will the cut price and hp? Will the 323i make an apperance as the budget model 3er?

Blast it - 328 isn't a very sexy number next to 330.

Who knows? It could have something to do with the hype window for the 3er. BMW doesn't mind if we gawk at the coupe, but still wants to keep the convertible under wraps.

There's also the remote possibility that different panels and shapes are being explored. Heck, maybe the convertable will get a different rear end.

Even though I'm not a fan of convertibles in general (few exceptions) this is very unappealing to me. I love the coupe but the trunk on this just looks too long. It almost looks like if you added a few more inches in the back it will just as long as the front.
