Torque Titan
Added cool for refreshed 1 Series range - Eric Gallina
Performance:
The 130i is a formidable performer with a throaty exhaust note.
Engine & Transmission:
Six-cylinder is powerful and flexible. Six-speed transmission is smooth and intuitive.
Ride & Handling:
Very taut chassis and M Sport suspension emphasises sporting intentions, but ride can be harsh over bumps.
Fuel Economy:
An indicated 22mpg isn't bad, but it isn't exactly frugal.
Tactility:
Interior surfaces benefit from high grade materials; upgraded 3 Series switchgear more premium.
Appearance:
Removing two doors gives the 1 Series a sportier appearance.
Interior:
Front seat space is cosy but confined, rear seat space is minimal.
Safety:
The five-door 1er scores five stars in the Euro NCAP; three-door should be no different.
Equipment & Value for Money:
£30,300 is certainly not cheap, but all the expensive options are standard kit.
