Bluetooth question

Warm-Up Lap
Hello, everyone:

I have been learning to use some of the electronics on the CL 63 that has a Bluetooth puck. My Motorola V557 has been paired up with the car and it works fine for making and receiving calls, but I find that when it rings, it rings differently than when it's not using BT. I normally have one ring tone for family and another for general calls. The phone uses neither when connected to the car with Bluetooth. I have tried using the phone's setting menu to no avail. As it stands, unlike in the truck in which I hear the ring through the speakers, in the CL it's the phone and not the car that rings when a call comes in, and I can hear the call waiting tone, but can't access the second call, nor see it register on the COMAND screen. Since I wasn't given an instruction booklet for the BT puck, I'm at a bit of a loss. Does anyone know if this is all that I can expect, or do I just have some wrong setting?

When you pair your phone with the car (or a BT headset), the phone activates the handsfree profile which has a different ring tone than your normal profile. When the handsfree profile is active, just change the ring tone. A lot of phones are like that. My SE used to do that everytime I paired it with my BT headset.

Now I don't know why COMAND won't promt you about the call waiting. This might be a bit distracting, but have you tried pressing the answer key on your phone when you hear the call waiting tone?

Good luck!

Thanks for your input, Yaz. I did try to answer the call by pressing the button on the steering wheel, but I didn't do so on the remote phone keyboard nor the phone itself. However, I called wireless4mb, and their rep told me that what I was getting was about all I would get. Even with the ring tone set in the Handsfree mode, there are some features that BT can't support, so what I'm finding is normal. It's a shame, though, as being able to answer a call waiting call would be helpful. Now all I have to do is remember to read who the caller is when I get a call, because while on BT, the phone rings like I have it set for a buddy of mine whose opening line is always WAZZAH! He's an anesthesiologist (no jokes about the gas, please) who rides a BMW bike, so he does have some redeeming qualities ;) .
