As much as I like the design of the new S-class, I still agree with some people that the car looks a tad bland on some photo's.
In some magazines reviews they told that alot of people didn't really notice the car at all and walked just pass them. Conclusion: lack of presence.
But anyway, I thought that chrome bumper strips would enhance the car's looks and presence. All the current Mercedes models has them except a few models like the CLS, S-class, SL, SLK and the SLR.
So I took a few photo's and edited with Paintshop, don't expect amazing work from me, I suck at it. But it's just to visualize and give you guys the idea of the chrome strips on the bumpers.
In my opinion it looks better with them, more classy, more presence and less bland. But what do you guys think?

Hmmmm....maybe if you guys like it, perhaps some Mercedes-insider doing reseach on internet will pass this to the designers division. =P

Nice job. Personaly I think that the new S looks kind of bulky and this is because it lacks chrome strips.

I dont think its because of the chrome strips, its because of the standart bodykit that realy isnt special at all, but if you look at the one with AMG-bodykit... thats superb! This car needs only a better bodykit that looks a bit lower and good rims....than its ok :usa7uh:

The Chrome strips does add personality but the beltline on the side is placed too low for the strips to be placed on the bumpers.

These chrome strips would keep the cars mass in check imo.

I agree that the beltline is too low but in my opinion it isn't much of a problem.
Especially considering that a BMW 7-series does has chrome bumperstrips but no chrome strips on the side of the car except around the windows.

hmm dont know.. the front strip looks good but the rear is somewhat wierd..
I think i want it to remain like it is..

I think it looks cleanier without them. Bolder too. :)

I like it with crome strips but smaller ones especially in the front part.

A little off topic, but in looking at those pics the best S-Class might be one without the sports package and just adding an aftermarket wheel to fill up those wheel arches. Looks just as good as the AMG stuff imo.

From most angles the strips look bad, but from a few angles they actually look better. Overall, I voted that I don't like the chrome strips.
