Very true, it really happens, I'm at beach every other weekend & get sight (normal) of such cases :D...!

Devil's Adcovate here.

If the guy in the X3 decided to park in two spaces, I think you'd be an ignorant fool to park beside him. Not only because it'd be insanely tight (risking damage to his and your automobile), but also because it was clear the guy in the X3 did not want his vehicle damaged. And that's where I find stupidity - the disrespect, the 'whateva' attitude of whoever left the note.

Both me and my father have been parking double-space for years now (my dad about 30+ years now actually) and will continue to do so because people cannot be trusted. Too careless. Too 'oh well'. Of course, things of such nature a are a potentional risk anytime you park double-spaced, but I've (we've) never had any problems. Maybe because we double-space where it is not to offend, but c'mon.

Now, if the guy actually tried to fit in the stall (stupidity aside) and accidentally scratched the guy's car, then what can you do? Accidents happen. But, if the guy purposely damaged the other guy's vehicle because he was double-spaced then he's an absolute low life tosser.

Anyway, I'm probably taking the whole picture a little too seriously, but as one who double-spaces...I couldn't help it.

Funny thing about that is that my dad is the first to complain about "such people" who park like this - and yet he does it too because he's always afraid of people scratching his car when they open their doors. I keep telling him that one of these days someone is going to scratch his car on purpose because of how he parks. Talk about hypocrisy... :t-banghea

Well Bruce i think no matter how precious ur car is u must respect other people's right in finding a space parking their car.It really pisses me off when i'm at at the mall or anywhere and it's damn crowdy and then this guy parked his in double slots to protect his and i keep goin in circles till i find a damn spot and that is really annoying.

My mom had a friend that 30ish years ago had a nice car with a brand new nice paint job. He went to the mall and parked in the very far end of the parkinglot in two spots. After shopping he came out to find "this is what you get for parking in two spots" scratched into his paint.

Everytime I see someone double parked I use some sort of explitive or raise my finger at him. It's not cool..

If you parked like that in a crowded structure where space is at a premium your act of self-preservation is also an invitation for an equally stupid person to damage your vehicle. The irony here is off the chart.

Making it even funnier is the fact that it's an X3 - Which practically says "Asshat" all by itself. God forbid somebody in this cruel world of ours ding your precious entry-level-premium SAV.

Wonna park in two spaces...Pay fro two spaces (It's certinally cheaper have having scratches removed from you paintwork:t-banghea). But seriously if someone did scratch my cars, I'd get CCTV evidence and beat them:D

I must be the only one who begs to differ.

When I can't find a spot, and the car that I'm in is not that hot, per se, I will squeeze myself between a Suburban and a Tahoe who decided to proclaim themselves as unofficial kings of the parking street.

My luck still rides with me as nothing has ever happened to my jewel each time I do so. I know for a fact when the driver returns, they probably scratch their heads thinking how I was ever able to fit that.

Shame on parking hoggers (wagging finger). Parking in two spots will not prevent a bad driver from dinging your jewel. The vast majority of people in this world cannot drive, or park for nothing!

I actually park far away enough from the shops and take the curb spot to make sure only one side of my car is potentially at risk of getting dinged. I don't mind walking a few feet longer if it protects me from getting dinged.

Yeah, pretty much what I do. If you are going to park like that X3, as well put up a big sign board, saying you are a "selfish pompous prick". But I also hate the dickheads who park next to me when there are other empty spots all around.
