Autozeitung Design Trophy 2007

I was in Munich yesterday btw..
visited the design studio, though couldn't see anything because I was only in the meeting room beside van Hooydonk's office. And even if I saw anything I won't tell because you don't know who's lurking here and I don't want to miss this opprtunity.. understandable I hope:D

I met Mr. Hooydonk. A very nice guy actually and we talked about the contest, my future plans and the upcoming internship, which will concentrate on improving my sketching ability. still don't know though whether I'll be allowed to contribute actively to the design process of BMW's future models.
Starting date of the inrternship will be May15th - one day before my 23rd birthday:D

The evidence that I was there:
Mr. van Hooydonk's business card:D

Excellent to see you're working for BMW mate, hopefully you'll be able to influence the designs or do something!

BTW, excellent PS there, did you draw this or do it on the computer!

EDIT, just reading through the thread I see Canay won as well!

Both you guys have great talent, I'm sure you will be designing the models of the future!

How did i miss this??????????????????????????????

Holy cr@p!!! The dream came through - Hussein will be (more or less) a part of BMW's designer team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish you all the best, Hussein! If anyone on this world deserved it it's you, man! Congratulations!:bowdown::bowdown:

:t-cheers:

both..I ketched it with a pencil, scanned it in and painted it with PS.. everything you see here id painted, except for the rims - they are real, but modified a bit to look cooler and fit the whole scenery:D

Awesome, I've tried marker rendering in design technology, but you take it to a whole new level!

Keep up the good work!:usa7uh:

Thank you guys very much!:t-cheers:

Never worked with markers before.. they were too expensive to me. I used to work wood paints before I started working digitally. Here you cann see some of the old stuff I used to do (scroll down): Designerspace [ Automotive design portfolios: Hussein Al-Attar ]
And if you're interested, here is a very good site started by Allan McDonald, a designer for Volvo Trucks, with lots of tutorials.
I wrote one of them discribing how I work (see archive): DESIGNERTECHNIQUES
Now that's more like it:D
looks like we both weren't quite satisfied with the front design:D
I did the design very quickly to be able to send it before the dead line and actually had only an idea for the rear design (and that was also what the jury liked best:D). Now the front is more agressive and harmonizes with the rear design imo.
Oh and thanx for the Karma!

Wow, man congratulations. I wish you all the best in future job. You must be very happy, this is a real sucess!:)
