G'day Everyone,

Here is the first draft for the rules of the Automotive Photo Competition.

Let me know what you think. Feel free to suggest any improvements in the design, layout, wording, or anything else that's on your mind.

Rules for Entry:

  • For the Automotive Photo Competition, the subject of your photography must stay within the boundary of a Road-Going Motorised vehicle. Therefore, human-powered transportation such as a bicycle, skateboard, skates are not allowed.
  • Your photography must be a resolution of 1024 x 768 or lower. If it is not, your photo will not be included in the voting thread.
  • Levels, Curves, Color Balance, Brightness/Contrast, Hue/Saturation, cropping, or anything else capable in the development process or with filters and common special lenses are allowed to use in Photoshop or other image editing software. Selective Color is allowed. Other adjustments and effects are not allowed to be used in your picture.
  • The submitted photograph must have been taken by the member submitting it.
  • Please do not submit a photograph that violates both domestic and international laws.
  • Do not submit a photograph that contains a person in it. People at a distance in the photograph is acceptable if the point of the photograph is to convey a vehicle(s), etc. However, close-ups of a person should not be submitted unless you have the consent of the person.
  • It is optional to include a title and/or short description with your photograph.
  • Each member can submit only one (1) photo per weekly competition.
  • The submitted photograph may not be changed once it has been entered.
  • You can re-submit a photograph that did not win a past competition. There is no limit to the number of times you can do so.

  • Each week, the Photo Submission thread will be created Monday morning, and will remain open to entries until Friday morning. It will then be closed, and a corresponding Voting thread will be opened Friday morning. Votes will be accepted until Monday Morning, thereafter a new thread will be created for the next weekly photo competition.

Rules for Voting:

  • You will be allowed to make only one (1) choice during the voting process.
  • Once you have submitted your vote, you will not be able to change your decision.
  • In the interest of fairness, entrants may not vote for their own photograph.
  • It is not required - though it is encouraged - to post an explanation for your choice in the Photo Voting thread.
  • As stated above, the voting period for each weekly competition begins Friday morning, and ends Monday morning. Once this voting period ends, you will be unable to place your vote.

So we're finally ready to restart the Automotive Photo Competitions!!

The first thread for these new competitions will be open for submissions in a few minutes.
