Pininfarina Automobili Pininfarina "B95" is teased!

Pininfarina S.p.A. (short for Carrozzeria Pininfarina) is an Italian car design firm and coachbuilder, with headquarters in Cambiano, Turin, Italy. The company was founded by Battista "Pinin" Farina in 1930. On 14 December 2015, the Indian multinational giant Mahindra Group acquired 76.06% of Pininfarina S.p.A. for about €168 million.
The super speedster market is way oversaturated. You can see by these sales numbers. I'm surprised people still buy the Aston Martin ones.

Well, I guess they can sell 10. Which is another way of saying that they could only sell 10.

Pininfarina set to offer one-off, custom-built cars
With the unveiling of the Battista-based B95 roadster, the Italian marque says it’s fully equipped to handle custom-built bodywork.

On the back of unveiling its special edition Battista – the Edizione Nino Farina – the Pura Vision concept and the Barchetta 95 roadster, Automobili Pininfarina says it’s now all geared up and ready to build absolute one-offs or custom-built cars, much like Ferrari’s Special Projects division that builds cars with completely bespoke bodywork – as per a customer’s desire – based on an existing model’s platform.
In response to a query from Autocar India about doing bespoke bodywork, Dave Amantea, chief design officer at Automobili Pininfarina, says, “I love your question, because the answer is yes. With the Barchetta 95, we are now saying that we are confident in our capabilities and also our systems to build these cars.”

Amantea says the company, for now, will use the underpinnings of the Battista for such cars given that the platform is already in service and fully capable of diverse body styles, but in time it will also offer custom-built bodywork based on its other models. This is similar to what brands like Ferrari do, allowing a customer to work with the company and commission a completely uniquely styled vehicle so long as it adheres to some fixed hard points and does not impact safety and other regulations.

He adds that the process will involve customers very closely, not just to know about their desired style but to also understand their personality and traits, so that these can be better reflected in the design. And in true Italian style, the process will begin with delicious food and some fine wine because it’s not just the car but a whole design experience that customers will be purchasing.

“Our history and heritage is coach building and so I am happy to say that with our heritage, after five years of hard work with this platform, and after the pandemic, we are now ready to receive any kind of request from any customer,” he adds.

While the price of the B95 is set at 4.4 million euros (more than Rs 38 crore), you can be sure prices for custom cars will vary and will be very premium indeed. After all, a custom design from a renowned design firm like Pininfarina isn't cheap, as is fine Italian wine."

I found it eventually. This is legitimate as he's one of the very top guys. This is a (well to me) incredibly interesting/important revelation.

How many Ferrari SP1 and SP2's were sold? To a drgree much less even the SP3's but ofcouse they are are hardtops too. I believe for certain marques the "speedster/barchetta" market will be huge!"

Bugatti Mistral too. The one with lines or not!

It is very clear who is who, an Aston Martin that has had the roof removed and it's too late to do it right... a McLaren Melba or Elva that competes closely with this Pininfarina B95 for the award for the least stylish car ever produced, all this clearly appreciable thanks to the Ferrari Monza that spits in their faces and continues to teach them what the truth is, a shame for Pininfarina...

The two in the back are .........scary from any angle

Unfortunately you're in an extremely small minority, in my experience, and I know people that had boots on the floor in situation at Monterey Car Week 2023 and both cars were present there.

Aesthetics are completely and utterly and compellingly individual in tastes.

I've read entire pages of "discourse" in some saloon sections where people argue over X vs Y. Waste of time.

Ferrari have never designed a Pininfarina, ofcourse and for DECADES they lauded off the finest Design House evers masterpieces and works.

Also this is a completely new market segment and I further believe they're all sold out so the clients trust Automobili Pininfarina.

Far too early to make sweeping statements on this car, and as an example there's an English car that costs way over Bugatti money that although I've shared a video on I've said nothing about it's "bespoke" nature and or "looks". - Same principal applies.

I simplify it for you (I don't see it as deep as you), referring exclusively to these Barquettas, If we put a score from 1 to 10, the Elva is 3, the B95 and the Aston are 5 and the Ferrari is 11.

Everything is an opinion, but there is no need to look far to appreciate the key details between one and the other and simply the ones mentioned do not seem to me to measure up in comparison, if the Monza did not exist,... but it does exist.

The reason I take the trouble to mention it is because it breaks my eyes.

The B95 is probably the best looking of the bunch. I don't mind the Ferrari, but the Elva and the Aston just look completely shit in my humble opinion, and yes I've seen all of those 3 in the flesh.

Thing is, in another place (as some do here I guess) I got really defensive about the Aston Martin. At the time to the same degree as the Bugatti Chiron, but as I stated the passing of time changes many things.

These Barchetta's are just effectively garage toys from what I know, I've not seen any in the extremely high net worth collections or being used, I could be wrong I don't really track them. I do know even the McLaren owners, from memory weren't too keen on the Elva.

Just because the Pininfarina B95 is a Barchetta doesn't mean you can compare it to the above three. They're making 10 in total, and Ferrari between the three SP'S have made over 1000- serial mass production by comparison.

As for depth there is absolutely need for it as I've pointed out many do for other marques they prefer and so will I and ABSOLUTELY for Automobili Pininfarina for other reasons that I'm not stating save to say over time I've been privy to things.
