Vs Autobild: Z4 sdrive23 vs SLK 250 vs TT

Z4 got the classic ingredients. Delicious engine, perfect driving dynamics and comfort. Thirsty engine and too cramped.
SLK- its fast and economcial but too expensive, it's too cramped and lack driving fun. Steering could be a little better.
TT - Easy to drive, fun but too loud. We wish it to be more comfortable. Turbo, torque and FWD affect the steering in a negative way.

Look at this photo of the Z4 cockpit shot with the SLK and TT in front of it.


Auto Motor und Sport had an exact same review but they included the Porsche Boxster in it. They had an exact same photo as the one ^above^ except with the Boxster poorly photoshopped into the frame to the left of the yellow BMW Z4!

I have to look for the magazine if I still have it. I'm beginning to wonder if somehow these magazines share images...

Very similar pictures indeed, but AMS took the more powerful versions of these cars (TTS, Z4 35i, SLK350) against the Boxster S.

I'm sorry, but the new SLK does nothing for me. It looks bland and bulky.

If you make the headlights smaller and change the front bumper the SLK would look much better. Still not a bad car, but this is really a slap in Benz face.

Hmm, that BMW engines getting outdone eventhough it's got noticeably greater displacement. Relatively slow & thirsty!

The SLK's asking price is definitely too steep, and it looks uninspiring. :ind2:

Wimmer, what was the outcome of that test?

The AMS-comparison:
Surprisingly the TTS won the test because of it's easy use, great AWD-system and best gearbox (S-tronic/DSG). And it's the cheapest.

Seconds place: SLK350.
Third place: Z4 35i.
Forth place: Boxster S PDK.

All cars performed relatively slow, the Z4 for instance was 1,6 seconds slower up to 200 km/h than the one tested by Sport Auto in March.
