As far as the topic goes, I wouldnt buy any of those cars mentioned, Renault RS, Opel OPC or Leon Cupra. Not because they arent any good, which I am sure the are, but because for ME there are other alternatives. I would still rather buy a Focus RS secondhand then these cars new. Why?? I have a really good car, tuneable and with a terrific sound which for the money I dont have to spend on the other 3 mentioned here, I could upgrade suspension, brakes and horsepower if I want too.
But I have to say: I am one of those persons passioned by sportscars with a soul, they dont have to be on S class level interiorwise and they dont have to be the latest and newest piece of kit. I want the handling, the noise, the looks, the soul, the pure driving and it doesnt matter if one is faster or has the newest tech in it. It has to be fun for ME!!!! And I can surely understand why someone would want a Cupra, hell I can even understand why somebody would by a Logan!!! For me a sportscar has to be fun, reliable and have soul. If they have an S class interior, wow thats a plus, but it wouldnt change my mind on the fun part. My kind of fun and soul could be different to yours but that doesnt matter, we are all different persons with different opinions and thats ok

Auto Motor und Sport compared the new León Cupra to the Astra OPC and Golf R. Win for the Volkswagen.
The Opel is really outclassed due to its massive mass, almost 200kg heavier than the Seat which has the same power!! Compare the performance of the VW in this test compared to AB SC, up to 100km/h almost same but to 200km/h, AB SC is over 1sec quicker!! The Seat is faster to 100km/h in the AMS test but to 200km/h almost identical to AB SC test!!! Mmmm very interesting!!!

ABSC is usually faster above 100 kph because they test with only driver onboard (-80 kgs).
I cant wait for them to test the Megane 275 version, it should give the Seat a real hard time. Sport Auto got a 71km/h slalom speed with this new version, it a demon of a hot hatch!!!

Yes, and the guys at Renault left the front numberplate too low, therefore the testcar was suffering... that's why it was 2 seconds slower up to 200 kph than the stock RS.
