Not true according to the dry statistics:
ABSC: Porsche won with 0.9 sec on regular tires and 2,85 sec on Cup 2 R;
AMS: Porsche lost with 0,9 sec on regular tires...

Question was rather how do you know Top Gear & one American magazine will test soon both head to head ? And will they publish laptimes (haven't seen Top Gear doing so recently unfortunately... refer to Top Gear Speed Week which comes out without any laptime).

To be precise, Auto Motor und Sport tested the RS with "street" aero-setup and normal PS Cup 2 tyres, not the ultra-hardcore PS Cup 2 R...

Hockenheimring GP has 3 very fast sections (straights+the Parabolica), where the 720S power and weight-advantage does come out.

I pretty much agree with that, the GT2 RS will win on tighter twistier tracks but the 720S will win on GP tracks and the likes of Big Willow, which is also very fast. That said, the AMS test was same day, the AB test was not.

Finding a way to slight McLaren .

McLaren did not bring an example to the 'ring for a factory lap time.. even when the 720s was undergoing R&D, I don't recall them using the circuit at all. It's only recently we saw a Senna mule there for testing. A car that has the potential to smash the lap record.

Senna is an entirely different animal than both.

He will for sure.
But he is still way off the skills of a Kevin Estre or Lars Kern. So the interessting question is: Why doesn't McL bring the 720S to the Ring with a factory driver in the league of Estre/Kern? Because the effort wouldn't pay off, since the Ring is better suited to Porsches GT cars? Maybe simply because Porsche has much more experience on the Ring (it is in their neighborhood, they race here in different classes for decades and have done millions of test kilometers)

I wouldn't say that was the case. The 'ring is one of the fastest tracks there is and the McLaren favours faster tracks. They've probably looked at costs vs benefits and the 720S is selling very fast even without spending several months squeezing out a 'ring lap.

It'll be interesting to see what tyres the GT2 RS uses in that case. I think after Hockenheim GP, they will place the emphasis on winning at any cost and leave it to the internet Mafia to argue that Cup 2 Rs aren't 2-3s faster than Corsas.

Clearly not skilled as Porsche drivers but that's considerably slower than the GT2 RS.

Also the Corsa MC1 tyres are slower than the ultra-hardcore Cup 2 Rs on the GT2.

It's considerably slower than a Performante too, yet it's beaten the Performante at Sachsenring and Big Willow and been mere tenths down elsewhere. That's the problem with magazine laps on a very complicated circuit that requires intense familiarisation with car and conditions.

As DeDe says the tyres are also a huge factor, the GT3 RS went 6:56 on Cup 2 Rs and the Cup 2 Rs were 2s faster than N2s at Sachsenring, so that means a GT3 RS on Cup 2 Rs is likely faster than a GT2 RS on Cup 2 N2s.

The Senna is the one to look out for. It's power, light weight and massive down force will make it break many track records in my opinion. Not even a P1 stands a chance.
