Only 5 points behind, not bad since its up against Porsches finest.

Too bad the GTS is behind in every handling related category and it's basically only superior in terms of sound, gearbox (and in this case many die-hards will prefer a proper manual over a double-clutch semiautomatic gearbox) and price. It's not even more confortable than the Porsche, despite being clearly slower than it on the track!

But still, its just 5 points behind ;)

Welcome back BTW, long time I seen you here :t-cheers:

I choose gt3:

it is faster, (but sport cup are "faster" than pzero corsa)
looks better,
and it is a 911 not a 3-series

This is one of those times where Porsche shines. This is their territory, and my hats off to them. Porsche is my choice.

I'm going to buck the trend and chose the GTS, though it's the slower of the two and with nothing like the image and status of a Porsche it is simply a more enjoyable car to have fun in, simply because of it's front engined/rwd configuration. This car will be easier to control, telegraphing the point when the tail breaks free easier than that of the GT3 and will be less inclined to bite back.

I know many here will reckon being the quickest is the most important thing with these types of cars, but since it isn't a competition race you are envolved in and is only a track day, I believe enjoyment and being entertained to the goal here and as such I reckon the more fun to be had will come from driving the GTS.

Though the price is still the sticking point for me. :(

It's really a bit like when the competition is going for the M3. It's unthreathened, but that is all down to differences in execution and priorities.

Would have to drive both before I could comment on which is better/more fun to drive but on looks alone its 911 all the way

The GTS is afterall "just" a modified of a street friendly M3, great against competitors but geez this is Porsche as its best with something made for the track from the beginning. Just by looking at it the BMW is slower, over 100kgs heavier.
Pity BMW won't build a Z4 coupe, then a M-coupe, then a M-coupe GTS... that might run the Porsche down but they won't do it :(.

Yep, you're exactly right. Many car companies can get close, but just can't match what makes the M3 special. It's the same thing with Porsche. You can get close, ie M3 GTS, but you just can't match what makes it special.
