In which DCT mode did they test it? The most comfortable one?

The figure is very weird.
The same magazine tested the M3 manual: 4.8s 0-100km/h, 15.2s 0-200km/h.

So, Autobild was able to make DCT less effective & sporty than the manual. :t-crazy2:

AMS did 4,6 seconds with both M3's (manual and DKG). So this is really a bad time...

BUT! The Porsche's time is fantastic! As fast as a 996 Turbo!
 
M5board.com did a 0-200km/h test with their M3 Convertible DCT with a proper meassure-instrument and clocked the car in 16.7 sec.
Thats almost as fast as Autobilds 0-200km/h time and we seen the video were the M3 E92 DCT beats the M3 Convertible easily.

Autobild got a lousy time - thats all and not a big deal honestly. The M3 E92 DCT can be faster than 16.5 sec, thats for sure.
 
Autobild did say the M3 had better comfort and better for long distance driving but the FL 911 is the sportiest car.

In latest AMS there is a comparison between R8 and 997 S PDK and the porsche beat the R8.

Audi R8(R-Tronic) against Porsche 997 Carrera S(PDK)

911 = 4,4s
R8 = 4,5s

911 = 15,5s
R8 = 16,1s
 
Poor M3, a sporty car compared with a sports car.

I think Porsche always have to win this comparisons, they're a sports car brand (forget the cayenne), designed from scratch to be effective and light.
The M3 is just a 3 series with some touches, is good but it will never be as good as Porsche.

However, BMW could do something to make their cars sportier. For instance: make a special lighweight pack (remove back seat, minimunim equipment, no i drive, lighweight 18's) and could make it a option from fabric. They could put the gearbox at the back also.
 
I wonder have they achieved those figures. The figure for the 911 is sketchy as well, 4.2 is ridiculously fast, that's GT3 territory right there. They must have towed the 911 to a Veyron or something while the M3 was dragging on a 116i.

Ah, it is getting so much clearer now :D
 
911 for me too. I get the feeling the M3 pushes the 911 in some way to be greater with each re-design, right along with the 911's natural competitors. Porsche can't let a mere "3-Series" show up their marquee sports car.
