Rob and Merc, FIGHT!!!! :D

Michael Menck is a wagenmeister in the noble hotel "four seasons" and knows itself out with luxury.

His unbiased (;)) verdict:
"I would take the S-class." Why? Completely simply: "that has this incomparably beautiful star on the hood".

Bentley / MB
171,836 euro 151,130 euro
Topspeed: 312 km/h 250 km/h
0-100 km/h: 5.2 s 4.6 s

312 kph agains "just" 250...hmmm, I don't mind
Take a look at the performance figures of AMS:

Bentley / Merc
560 hp / 517 hp
650 Nm / 830 Nm
2480 kg / 2302 kg
312 kph / 250 kph (delimited: over 300 kph)
0-100 kph: 5,5 s / 4,5 s
0-160 kph: 12,3 s / 9,9 s
0-200 kph: 19,2 s / 15,1 s :D
Slalom: 59,6 kph / 60,2 kph
70 dB(A) @ 180 kph / 72 dB(A) @ 180 kph
100-0 kph (warm): 41 m / 39 m
17,0 l/100 km / 18,2 l/100 km

...and the S600 looks better IMO...
:t-cheers:

This article claimed the S600 was 1.4 seconds faster to 250km/h than the Bentley.

Sure unbiased ......ask the German valet :D

Seriously though, why would I fight with Merc1 about this -- I would still rather own an A8  ...and I would also choose the S class before the Bentley.

I would go for the S-Class! The electronic limit of 250 km/h isn't really a reason for not buying the S 600! :D And the acceleration is even faster - 4 seconds to 200 km/h is a lot...

but only 1.4 seconds faster to 250km/h, thats not much

"Aus dem Stand auf Tempo 200 spurtet der Mercedes 1,4 Sekunden schneller und stürmt brutal in den 250- km/h-Begrenzer."

It says the Merc is 1,4 seconds faster to 200 kph.
:t-cheers:

Hmmm... I will scan the AMS, where the S 600 and the Flying Spur were tested separate!

Just notice, that you shared the AMS data...

... I will scan the both articles anyway... :usa7uh: ...because of the pictures and the rest of the data... :D

are you sure your figures are correct -- are you quoting S65 numbers? The S600 reaches 0-100kph in 5.51 sec. The S65 does it in 4.4

They are correct!!! :D
This isn't making any sense to me then. The Flying Spur was officially the fastest saloon in the world untill the W221 S65 (and Maybach 57 S) -- I just assumed this included acceleration too.

That will be great, cause I can't scan them :D

Wow, the S600 torque figure is crazy, one would not believe that the car is that fast.
As for the comparison itself, the Flying Spur does look more exclusive in the pictures and has that Ritz Carlton aura around it.
