Audi's Boxster beater raises the roof

We reveal amazing plans for new mid engined roadster inspired by incredible R8.

The engine line-up is certain to include a mix of 2.0-litre four cylinder and 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged petrol units. A diesel is under consideration, but it’s unlikely to be offered from launch. All models will offer a choice between six-speed manual and seven-ratio R tronic semi-automatic gearboxes.

Performance should be stunning, with power outputs ranging from 200bhp to a spectacular 380bhp. Top speed will be limited to 155mph, while the 0-60mph time is likely to drop below six seconds.

Nope , The conflict between brands has begun.

According to insider reports amongst industry circles Porsche want the Roadster concept to be applied to VW , Skoda and Seat. Not Audi.
Porsche also want the SEAT brand to be revitalised featuring volume sporty cars and not reskinned Audi's.

Porsche only want that because if the car is any good from Audi, it will sell more than the Boxster because its new and fresh with a good sporty brand.

They wan;t this car to be applied to VW, Seat and Skoda because they don't have as much as a sporty or quality brand as much as Audi reducing sales and increasing sales of the Boxster.

Audi already has it's own "Boxster" , it is called TT...

On the other hand an R4 that will go against Cayman S might be possible.

I don't think Audi will be allowed to build a Cayman/Boxster competitor, the R2 on the other hand looks more like a Toyota MR2 in a new guise! Very fresh and very possible. Straight competitor to the Z2.

Yes, al the same imaginary car. (R2, R3 and R4)
The TT is a useble 3-door coupe', the A5 is a 2-door coupe with with a trunk.
A mid-engined coupe' is useless in that way.

btw, Porsche seems to have it's own "Bluesport based" plans with it.

Yeah, the Germans are finally on a mission to take on the MX-5. That Porsche 359 is rumoured to be on the way and probably will make it to the showroom floor now when BMW Z2 rumours are gaining steam. Efficient small roadster for the metropolitan gremlins who dream about driving a CGT but will never be able to afford one. The 1.4L turbo and supercharged engine VW exhibited a while back will hopefully make it inside this car.

Base Roadsters for VW , Skoda and SEAT , Premium for Porsche - The entry to the Porsche marque but very sporty and of course premium with no compromise of Porsche heritage?
