The scorepoints the BMW M5 Touring lost the most to the Audi RS6 Avant in categories Fuelconsumption / Envorviroment with 17 p (of 20) vs 14 for the M5.

Vs the Merces E63 AMG the M5 lost scores mostly on Luggage space / versatility where the AMG scored 20 (out of 20) and the M5 scored 14. The E63 probably got really gih there also thansk to it's 55 liter larger trunks space (2030 liters for the E63). The M5 also lost many points on visibility (18 vs 15 out of a 20 max) and also Warranty (13 vs 9 out of 20).

For everyday the Mercedes E63 AMG won the test. The fastest aroudn the track was the Audi RS6. The BMW M5 Touring was a fascinating ride, a drivers machine. But in everyday driving the SMG auto gearboxfeature was cumbersome in auto mode.

Pretty much expected results, the E63 is the easiest to live with,M5 T the sportiest and surprisingly the RS6 was the fastest around a track despite being the heaviest, well done Audi:usa7uh:

4WD is fast (but not always fun) around a track but you need more power.

Tumbo, now you must be happy. RS6 fastest car to 200km/h (although not by much).

With all that power advantage the Audi really no faster than the M5 at the track or the E63 in most of the speed contests. Seems a waste.

And don't forget the premium you have to pay for RS6 over E63 and M5. I won't be surprised if RS6 is close to $20k more than the competition here in the US.

That would be shocking wouldn't it! I can see why we don't get the wagon, but the sedan had better be available in the U.S. and it wouldn't hurt it to be considerably sportier than the wagon IMO.

I wasn't fan of the RS6 and it's now confirmed. Not very sporty and involving but not a GT either, immense power reserve but not amazing performance figures and probably an astronomic price. The typical unattractive ultra compromised car.

A Touring shall be useful, practical and transport you safe and easily and I think RS6 is the best for this purpose.
My personal choice is RS6 Avant, if this was Sedan comparison M5 would be my choice.

Not at all and i couldn't care less for M5's CO2 emissions; it's a V10 507hp car after all, what would you expect?:t-hands:

:t-cheers:

Yupp, that time to 200km/h was at least a little faster. So that's at least positive. But happy I will be when they will change the whole front...

I wonder if its still true that M5 is getting a powerboost to 561hp ?
If its the case the M5 is going to be much faster than the RS6 in acceleration.

Well that's true unless the E63 and RS6 gets a new trans and then we'll see one hell of a fight between the three:D

IMO the E63 needs that new MCT from the SL63 to rock to 200km,the current trans is the main reason why it's the slowest to 200km...heck the C63 is faster than the E63:D

With a weight distribution of 59/41 it isn't surprising to see the RS6 isn't that much faster than the M5 on the track. The slow auto shift time, turbo lag and a heavy car probably contribute to the slowish acceleration time. I agree, the RS6 looks awesome on paper, but I feel it is a miss opportunity for Audi once again. Now if only the engineers put more effort into solving the cooling problem for that engine inside the R8, the result will be spectacular.
