According to a report from German car newspaper Automobilwoche, Audi has made a “slight” change of plans concerning which manufacturing site will build the upcoming A3 Cabrio. While a few months ago they announced that it would be manufactured along with the Q5 SUV in Ingolstadt now Audi’s saying that the parts for the A3 Cabrio will be built in Germany but the assembly will take place in their Hungarian site in Gyor
Does make some sense as the A3 Cabrio will be based on the same platform as the new TT –without the aluminium goodies though, which is also manufactured in the Gyor site. But try telling that to the workers in Ingolstadt…
