Hot! Audi: What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
The GLS is a stretched GLE. The X7 a stretched X5. Why would the Q9 not be a stretched Q7 or an A6 on stilts with three rows?

Isn't the purpose it this segment utilitarian e.g transport 6-7 full sizes adults or 4 with full sized suitcases and carry ons?
That's not what I'm talking about.

The interior of a luxury SUV, to be unveiled as completely new in 2026 with a price tag exceeding €100,000, looks like it's from 5-6 years ago.

Moreover, the X5 never shared the same interior as the 5 Series; it always had a different interior. The Q9, on the other hand, is very similar in interior design to the A6, which will be sold at half the price. This is a failed move. While its competitors are moving forward, Audi is only now starting to use interior details from 3-4 years ago in 2026.

With the exception of the seats, which will likely be exclusive to vorsprung trims, the interior does lack an element of surprise or uniqueness.

If these beautiful seats aren’t included in the standard package, then there’s nothing appealing about the Q9. This car will have to compete not only with the current X7 but also with the upcoming G67 X7, and it doesn’t even have a better interior than the G07 X7.

If this vehicle had come out with this interior design in 2022, it might have been somewhat acceptable, but for 2026 there’s nothing exciting about it at all. The entire interior looks outdated. They haven’t even offered anything similar to BMW’s Theatre Screen. It’s a big, very big disappointment.

Mercedes has the best integrated screen, but the screen spacing ruins the aesthetics. BMW is the only brand experiencing identity confusion here.
Explain? Apart from the Porsche and BMW everything else looks like Sony Triniton planted on the slab like dash with no additional space for anything else. The BMW looks neater sitting in its metallic cradle (non removable sadly)

BMW is not suffering from an identity crisis. It is clearly putting forward its own approach. Yet, as always, we’re reading the usual criticisms from Mercedes fanboys.

For years, they’ve been claiming that BMW’s solutions are terrible and that Mercedes is the one doing it right.

They defended the EQ disaster exactly like this years ago. Now they’re finally admitting that it caused major losses for Mercedes. But even so, they continue to insist that BMW is still doing it wrong.

I’ve said this many times. No panoramic iDrive. Would mean a passenger screen placement on the 7er possibly similar like the VFL Concept.

BMW's overall style isn't much different from Tesla's. The steering wheel, screens, etc., are things that have nothing to do with BMW, and this cabin was adapted from a 7 Series.

Over the years, you've criticized Mercedes for things like: the lack of a gear knob, screens without visors, fully digital driver and passenger displays, and others. BMW eventually adopted all of these features. Now they don't even have an iDrive button. Looking at the current situation, you should be open to criticism. I've criticized many things Mercedes has done. I've never seen you criticize BMW in any way.

The problem about these guys is that everything is tacky until BMW does the same.

All of a sudden the passenger screen on the 7 is “BMW moving forward in it’s own approach” ?🤣🤷‍♂️

He can’t. He’s one of the biggest hypocrites present. Auto pilot roundel cheerleader.

Given the "obligation" to install it, having done so at an angle and so much smaller than the central one is ultimately "it’s own approach”

It would have been a gross aesthetic mistake to have it the same size as the central screen as the Chinese do; in general, the four Germans have small ones (I mean the passenger screens).

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
