Hot! Audi: What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
Whats the new A4 etron thing, can someone pls bring me up to date? I thought the A4 is done for good

The upcoming A4 etron will reportedly be the first Audi 4 door (meaning sedan or Sportback + Avant derivative) that will feature the new Massimo Frascella supervised "Radical Next/Radical Simplicity" exterior and "Shy Tech" interior design signatures previewed on the Concept C. It's battery-electric architecture is being co-developed with Rivian. Word has it that it will be officially presented, barring snafus, in series production form sometime during the second half of 2027 for the 2028 MY.

There may be a certain degree of accuracy in the rendering below. It is the work of reknown designer and illustrator Christian Schulte who appears to be "Die Stimme"s resident illustrator:

Thanks for the details. While the Concept C looks amazing for that shape, and these renders remained true to it, they also very well show how weird it is on a small sedan/wagon. I’m curious what will they bring out from it, its certainly unique, but so far not so much desirable.

The Concept C's "vertically accentuated" front sensor shield is certainly polarizing. My suspicion is that Audi will be presenting somewhat flatter, somewhat wider derivatives as well.

I estimate that only the size will change to fit the size of the car model it will be incorporated into, but the latent verticality will remain; that is the essence of this philosophy.

Mega meh!

Mega meh!

I think...no...I HOPE that in view of increasingly resounding "MEH !"'s over the course of the past several years, Audi AG will have realized that "warmed-up, oversculpted leftovers" will not at all suffice. I choose to be cautiously optimistic that Audi AG will tread the resurrected Bauhaus route with determined acumen and focus.

It's going to be bold for Audi and this is what they need. It will certainly raise a few eyebrows and will get conversation going by been a little controversial but it's better than their current boring design language and will give BMW Neue Klasse models a good fight.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
