TT Audi TT Sportback four-door Concept

Fack!!! This must be the first nice rear end Audi creates since I have memory.

Fantastic.

The best looking 4dr Audi I have seen in a while! Looks great!

Renders had me excited, but pictures look terrible. Thankfully it won't make it to production. A5 sportback over this any day.

I prefer the look of the Autobild render myself.

The rear is interesting though.

That actually looks amazing! Build, ship and sell it. That interior is to die for. If the next A4 has this type of interior the C-Class will have some trouble holding on to that best interior status.

My guess is that the taillamps-connected-via-horizontal reflector theme will be a common signature on many future Audis. Audi design spokespersons have often alluded to the accentuation of width. The method implemented on the TT Sportback concept is effective in transporting that element. I am confident that it will be repeated on the upcoming A9 Concept reportedly due for presentation in L.A. next month. And will in all likelihood appear on the D5 A8 production models.

This has winner and huge sales written all over it, I can see this becoming the biggest selling version fo the TT pretty quickly. Some cars just look right and this is one of them.

HIDEOUS! Like a stretched Beetle!

That roofline is sexy on the TT - and that is where it should stay and was designed for..

I don't find the shape very graceful either, whether it's from the side, 3/4 or rear. The car has the face of the Audi TT coupe but not the coolness. Even the bumper is poorly designed tot he extent that the car looks like a toy.

Speculators on the web have managed to design something more compelling than the real deal:

Guys, nothing about this car is "practical". If you want practical you're welcome to buy the basic A4 saloon from the same showroom.

I'll eat my Pugs' dog food on youtube if this thing makes it to production.

I think it's a floor filler for a brand with not much going on from a mainstream new product perspective. I feel that this TT Concept previews a few design-element pointers for future Audi models - such as the forthcoming B9 A4.

I'd say this is a main reason why this won't reach production:

But it shows the potential that this idea has, even though Audi attacked the concept of the 4-door coupe with the shape of the A5 SB and the A7.

Very few men would want to drive a car like this,it's too round and fat meaning it's too women-oriented.Check out the drivers of the TT and Beetle.

That's just a sexist generalisation.

Agreed, as the "genderization" of automobiles is quite juvenile methinks.

Whatever...back to the TT Sportback Concept:

Dr. Hackenberg confirmed in a recent in interview that Audi would indeed be expanding the TT model line. Much however seems to indicate that a "shooting brake type of car" would have the most promising chances of reaching production.

I reckon that the TT Sportback Concept is primarily a testbed featuring future Audi design elements. As previously mentioned, the taillamps and rear end treatment in general-as well as an "edgy", shallower and wider single frame grill and razor-sharp, shallow and horizontally accentuated headlamps.

The A9 Concept rumored to be presented in L.A. will probably be "closer" to a bonafide production vehicle.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
