Genuine intention or corporate glib ?

Audi CEO Gernot Döllner announced that the Concept C was not only an accurate preview of Audi's incoming design signature, but also an accurate preview regarding the minimalization, clarity and precision regarding R&D, design and manufacturing processess. This could mean a number of new model surprises embodying those virtues in the relatively short term. As for an A8 segment model: It would not surprise me one bit were Audi AG (or SAIC AUDI) to present a very accurate precursor within the course of the next 12 months. Of course, should it be an Audi AG product, it could feature a number of exterior design characteristics that appear "familiar"...somehow. **cough** Jaguar 00 Concept **cough** ?

Would be the perfect Q7 with this Defender look, of course would require a somewhat different, more classy trim for luxury specs, but overall there is good potential in this design direction.

I would personally be happy to see such a rear on a future A7 for example:

My word...THAT is an absolutely gorgeous piece of work (y)(y) One of the best I've seen on these boards for quite some time. A BIG "BRAVO !!" to it's creator(s).

Of course, that's only my personal take.

FWIW there had been no successor for the Q8 greenlit due to the investments in Q7 and Q9.

I wonder if the new design language could see the launch of a new style-oriented Coupe SUV with the Q8 nameplate

Every car brand its going back to its roots and creating beatiful cars, meanwhile Mercedes:

Mercedes-Benz and AMG may be running the risk of having their IAA Mobility 2025 "thunder stolen" by the likes of Audi, BMW, VW, Skoda, Cupra, Porsche, etc. Not to mention the Chinese manufacturers.

We'll see within the next day or two.

Unless they show a concept of the G Class Cabriolet, then I think they’ll still have the wow factor. It’s odd to me that they teased it before the show and never confirmed if they’ll be showing it.

This with the new Taycan platform underneath it or the Panamera running gear with the active ride would be killer.

Precisely. A template for a more than worthy etron GT/A7 Sportback successor. Hopefully, Audi decision-makers will resolve to bring something VERY similar to this. Relatively soon.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
