I like the Q7 and the RSQ3 but even I don't really like the Q5. I prefere even the GLK, the Q5 does not look much like a SUV. The Q5 does have some nice touches, but I guess at facelift the X3 will also get all the nice things like LED, actually it is the only thing missing. But this poll is not accurate. Is it just Q5 vs. X3 vs. GLK or SQ5 vs. X3 xDrive35d M Sport vs. GLK 350 CDI 4Matic AMG Package ?
Actually the SQ5 has no direct rival. The X3 M35i would be a direct rival, even with a petrol engine.
Also I agree with Just Me, the Evoque should have been in this poll. There is an Evoque Supercharged in preparation, to rival the Macan S.
If you look into the U.S figures, it shows how poorly the GLK is being received. Point is that an Audi is outselling it, and a Cadillac, etc. In M-B's core model ranges, they're usually at or amongst the top sellers in the U.S, far ahead of Audi (look at the E-Class VS the newer and very press-loved A6, it's crushing it). The GLK is selling.... because of that Star misrepresented on its cheekily goofy grille, but it's a laggard VS some other M-B models within their segment ranges.
The SRX is the bestseller here. It's YTD is literally double the Q5, the GLK, and the X3. And its absolutely horrid. I remember reading a survey once, and Cadillac is the most stylish luxury brand according to Americans.
Head over to Canada, and the charts are completely different. China; again, a different story.
Sales =/= success. And even when they do, you have to look at it globally (which the GLK still might not lead in, but that's not the point).
