Difficult choise between the spyder and the GT, both unique and beatiful cars, especially the Spyder, I'd go for the GT though.

VAG at it again with the:

strategy.

As for which I'd opt for... probably the GT for the same reason that Just_me gave.

Say who?
The R8 GT is faster then the Gallardo LP-570. I have inside information about that.

Official from Ingolstadt, 2010-05-01:

Audi R8 GT
0-100 in 3.6 sec
0-200 in 10.8 sec

Top speed of 320 km/h (198.84 mph).

&

Lamborghini 570 Superleggera
0-100 in 3.4 sec
0-200 in 10.2 sec

Top speed 325 km/h (202 mph).

R8 V10. A better DD car than R8 GT. If I wanted a track car I 'd pick a 458 Italia, 911 GT3 RS or M3 GTS(-R), I can't say MP4-12C because it isn't out yet. And even so I think the Ferrari and McLaren would be just as good DD cars, and I do not need Quattro, even for snow, when you see that most drive FWD on snow. RWD for TRACK. Period.

Don't take this the wrong way but the R8 has proven it's chassis to be one of the finest regardless of price and worth to be considered as good as anything coming out of Maranello or Stuttgart, now you couldn't wholeheartedly make the same statement about an M3 or any M model at the moment, great and all as they are. The R8GT has a proven chassis the M3 GTS hasn't a chassis of the same caliber, so I think the M3 GTS will be a decent trackday car I couldn't see it troubling the likes of the 458, GT3RS or R8GT, meaning you may well be jumping the gun to include it in your list of possible trackday specials unless you really like the M3's character.
