R8 Audi R8 V10 (spy pics & info)

The Audi R8 is a mid-engine, 2-seater sports car, which uses Audi's trademark quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. It was introduced by the German car manufacturer Audi AG in 2006. Production ended in the first quarter of 2024. Production: June 2006 – March 2024 (45,949 Units), Model years: 2007–2024
well yes, I think the cabrio would be the next one, but I still like more coupes. But I've one question: When the V10 comes out, does Audi Stop the production of the V8? Anyone know something?

Coupés hides you away IMO...
Hmm.. I've never heard that the V8 will come to an end so early?
Sad cause it's fantastic.. and it's perfect for the daylidrive.

First car I would buy as "supercar" for the poor ones would be this in CAB V8...

Very good question mate! Tricky as well since it's a matter of opportunity cost. It would be peculiar if the current R8 production of 1000 units per annum was divided into R8, R8 Cab and R8 V10. Then again it's Audi, a German brand which means that they could easily have plans on manufacturing the R8 on a large scale like Porsche is doing with the 911. The damns is definitely there, but it all comes down to Audi's ambitions and plans for the model. Given the short period the RS4 was available for sale the days for the R8 V8 could be counting down as we speak.

Audi R8 V10 Spotted at quattro (Hires pics)

Ever since the Audi R8 strutted onto the scene there have been rumors and later the first sightings of the V10 powered version. Finally the R8 V10 is nearing production status after some initial fears that the project may just be cut altogether due to heat problems.
Last week the ever present Nurburgring experts Bridge to Gantry spotted the R8 V10 doing some laps, today we have audiblog.nl to thank for some up-close-and-personal photos of this V10 beast.
The audiphiles among us will immediately spot the missing 'fin' underneath the headlamps while the rear is missing two of the horizontal fins. Further than that, the two larger exhaust pipes (instead of two double exhausts) and the side scoops have larger air-intakes for the necessary cooling of the engine.
We are not sure, but the R8 V10 looks to be lowered too but that could just be an clever aesthetic illusion achieved through the quattro body kit.
Thanks to Sander at audiblog.nl for the high res photos!

This car is gonna kill the LP-560:D

Then Audi can go F***************** them self:D
It's just stupid if that will be the scenario...
I hope there only will be a small production line for the V10.
But the pricetag may kill it ??
:eusa_pray

Hmm.. Is the official figures out yet ?
I adore the R8 I really do but when it's trying to beat the Bull ...
Sorry, Stupid Audi Stupid!
;) Time will show..

It's won't. The R8 V10 will under powered with around 35hp. Besides that the LP650 has been equipped with the same rear suspension as the R8. So the Lambo will definitely have an upper hand.

Even it's detuned it'll for sure still around 550hp which is just like the LP but with more torque.I'm afraid this car will do to LP560 the same the R8 V8 did to pre FL Gallardo:D

I doubt it is getting the TTV10 from RS6. Probably the NA V10 maiking around 520HP at most.

Not happening. The engine the R8 V10 will get is going to be similar to the one in the Gallardo. Don't forget that R8 came with 420hp for a reason, it's all strategic so keep it right under the Lambo. This time Lamborghini has borrowed quite a few components from Audi meaning that the LP560 is going to be better in all categories.

What's up with the ":D" smily Tarek do you find this funny ? :eusa_doh:
*ARG*

We had an Audi official before saying that it's getting the TT V10 and the engineers solved the cooling problem.

Yeah i find it funny coz Audi is screwing itself, there shouldn't be an Audi that has more or same power as Lambo ":D".

:t-cheers:

:D:D I was just playin ya Tarek. I agree 100% about the fact that
Audi is screwing - Audi, Lamborghini, the fans, also you and me... (Funny strategy from such a pro. company)
If I'd wrote a personal letter to Audi AG right now I would probably wrote
SCREW YOU TOO!
:D:D

:t-cheers:

Re: V10 powered R8 to have 480 hp?

Why not a Twin-Turbocharged variant of the current 5.2 V10 with 650 Bhp? That would be 125 Bhp/per liter - not bad at all for a V10 Biturbo I reckon.
My dear god, if this happens I may just have a new favorite car

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
