Here in the EU, traditional large luxury segment sedans have lost a significant amount of relevance over the past decade. And the exterior dimensions of upper executive segment sedans are now in the vicinity of those of luxury segment SWB version sedans of a decade ago. The recently presented C9 A6, configured lavishly, will fit the bill for many former A8 sedan customers. Similar to the situation regarding the W214 E-Class and G60 5er. Personally, should there be a lower ride height luxury Audi positioned above the C9 A6, I would hope for something VERY close to the Grandsphere concept. Not a traditional sedan, but rather an athletic mix of 4 door Sportback coupe and shooting brake. For those who need far more abundant rear headroom and storage space, there will be the Q7 and Q9.

IMHO, Audi is flogging a long dead horse with this "Horch" nonsense. VAG has Bentley. An Audi will never "be a Bentley", hence making Horch as redundant as can be. Want to "personalize" an Audi ? There is Audi Exklusive. That will suffice.

I can't see any difference between their designs. An X7 and an X5 are very easily distinguishable, I can't see any difference here. Will the Q9 and Q7 come with the same design? Did they call a stretched Q7 the Q9?

Q9 is just longer. I don't think there will be any difference in the interior. X7 and GLS have the same interior as their siblings but differ in the exterior design. It is a failure for Audi that Q9 comes with the same design as Q7.

I think the return to the normal iconic vertical grille will be a much welcomed decision. It seems to be for the base version of the Q9.
