Q6 Audi Q6 (Renderings)

Till now we only see fugly renders of Q6/Q7/Q8/Q9. No mules. Good they won't look anything like the renders, or it will be the new era of ugly Audis.

But the face & the butt ARE the new AUDI SAV-specific face & butt. Sure it would look more refined & upscale on the real cars but you get the idea.

I would say that is a pretty good render looking at the current Audi design language. The front grill is a different theme altogether as it is going the 3D route but that is to be expected as then they will be playing catch up with BMW and Mercedes with their 3D grill designs.

Doesn't FCA own the copyright to the Q4 and Q6 names?

They own the Q2 and Q4 names for sure (for meaning 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive) but Q6 for 6 wheel drive, not sure they own that one!! LOL!;):D

Audi Drops First Teaser Picture of the New Q6 Electric Vehicle

Audi just released the first official rendering showing their upcoming Q6 electric SUV, which means competition for Tesla Motors is about to heat up, but not in the near future.

For now, this is all Audi gives away but we’re sure there’s more to come in the following weeks. BMW did it with the X6, Mercedes-Benz adhered to the trend with the GLE Coupe and now Audi enters the hunchback games with the Q6. However, the upcoming green SUV won’t arrive earlier than 2017.

The only difference is that Audi’s version of a SUV-coupe will be an all-electric vehicle, most likely using R8 e-tron’s powertrain. Rumors have it that Audi will build the Q6 on the same MLB platform as the new Q7.

In addition, other voices say that the SUV will benefit from a 100 kWh battery pack which should guarantee a range of around 293 km (185 miles) with a full charge. Now try and remember what the Prologue concept looked like, because Audi could be looking to use the concept’s looks for the upcoming Q6, as well as for the new A6, A7 and A8 models.

In other news, Audi officials took their time to confirm again that there will be a Q8 flagship model built by the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer, also drawing some design cues from the Prologue prototype. The word ‘sporty’ is also attached to the upcoming Q8, meaning that it will be just another coupe-like SUV. Personal note from the editor: this is just great, it really was the last thing the automotive world needed at this point.

There's also a lot of catch-up to do in order to put a dent in Tesla's efforts, but one thing is clear: the electric car segment will become a lot more interesting soon enough.

I hope at least one german manufacturer gets the coupe SUV design right once and for all. The sedanish approach of MB is not my cup of tea. And I´m far from being sold by the BMW´s SACs. This Q6 render look promising. But I´ll wait to see it in the metal before writting my opinion.

Quite a push to the high end part of the portfolio from Audi these days. A9, Q8, Q6, hypercar...

When is this thing debuting?

Boring! SUV and electric is the new buzzword!zzzzzz this car is as exciting as watching paint dry on the desert sand!

Audi Q6 e-tron to have up to 500 bhp of electric power

Could have 100 kWh battery
British media has managed to acquire some spicy details about the Audi Q6 e-tron scheduled to come out in 2018.

It was only a few days ago when Audi teased an all-electric Q6 and now CAR says the car will compete directly with the Tesla Model X and could feature a battery pack with a capacity of 100 kWh. Initially, it will be offered in two configurations: 300 bhp (223 kW) & 332 lb-ft (449 Nm) and 400 bhp (299 kW) & 479 lb-ft (649 Nm), with both providing a maximum range close to 200 miles (322 km).

Interestingly, the report mentions Audi is cooking up a more potent "RS-spec" version which will provide as much as 500 bhp (373 kW) and 553 lb-ft (749 Nm), but this probably won't be available right away so it will likely come out towards the end of the decade.

The Audi Q6 e-tron will ride on the same MLB platform as the next-gen Q5 and will be assembled in an existing factory. It will allegedly carry a starting price of approximately £60,000 (about $89,150 / €84,270) when it goes on sale sometime in 2018.

produce an electric crossover, and now we have a few more clues on what to expect for the car that will likely be called the Q6. Speaking with Auto Express, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said the model will be available by 2018 to coincide with the arrival of a stronger charging infrastructure.

Stadler said that achieving a range of 500 km, or 310 miles, "is a must." “Now with our engineers and our battery-cell suppliers we are at a stage where we can say, yes, this is feasible and we believe that with the ongoing investments in terms of infrastructure development we think that 2018-2019 is the right time to come up with such a car," he noted. Good news for the Q6 and other EVs: China is expected to rapidly expand the charging network along its highways and Europe just may follow suit, Stadler says.

The Audi boss promises the Q6 will be "sexy," "sporty," and "packed with utility." The Audi Q6 is poised to take on the Tesla Model X, which could arrive a lot sooner. On its website, Tesla estimates that customers who reserve a model now will have it delivered by early 2016.

The Q6 isn't the only new crossover coming to the Audi lineup. As we reported last month, Audi has also confirmed a Q8 model, which will be offered as a sporty Q variant. According to Stadler, it will be more expensive than the new Q7.
