It would be a total shame if the other Q models all looked like resized Q7s...

It wont look like Q7 trust me. Perhaps it will be similar in some details but not the same.

That's good to know... 'cause the Q7 is awesome, but if you would see a bunch of mini-me clones running around, it would loose its luster.

Q3 is in the new CAR magazine. Says production in 2010, hope its not that long!

Yannis, are you in the Audi business now? If Volvo won't build me an XC30 then I may have to settle for one of these. If its built. And exported.

Where might you guess its price point will be? If the above is true, then perhaps between A3 & Q5? On par with A4?

Also, will we see AWD turbo? Audi seem to be moving against this combination lately (A3, TT), but that's what the original Quattro featured!

And are we really talking MY2011? Sigh...

Audi Q5 will be based on the same platform with next A4 (although Audi will be using flexible "modular" platforms from now on but that's another story). So the base price of Q5 will be between A4 and A6 but closer to the second. Imagine Q5 as Audi's response to X3.
Audi Q3 will be based on the same platform with Tiguan (which is essentially a modified Golf/A3 platform). When the Q3 will come in the market is still unknown because the plans are only on paper right now and no final decisions have been taken. If the Q3 gets a go ahead Audi will need minimum 3 years to design , test and prepare for mass production so that's why car magazines talk about 2010.

If there are any new reports about this car you will hear them first. Stay tuned.

Looks like BMW may get into the crossover coupe game with the X6. Hope this encourages Audi to commit.

Q3 isn't really known for good if there will ever exist.

But Cross Coupe Quattro Concept is 100% reserved for Q5?

Wrong. The Cross Coupe Quattro Concept is an experiential study for a smaller SUV/crossover which could've been called the Q3 but according to some rumors Audi made an agreement with Infiniti that allows it to only use Q7 and Q5 names. That's how I understand this, Yannis or some other Audi experts please correct me if I'm wrong...

Yes that's correct bmer.

Cross Coupe is "Q3" based on the next A3/Golf/Tiguan ect. platform (= transverse mounted engine , Mc Pherson front and 4 link rear suspension).

Some automotive sites said that it's Q5 but Q5 is based on MLP platform which means longitudinally mounted engine , four link front and 5 link rear suspension (like A5 and A4).

Why agreement with Infiniti about the (Q3) name?

I don't see much point in 3 Audi SUVs. There should be just Q7 (X5 killer ) and Q5 (X3 killer ). Q3 is a bit small...if this Cross Coupe Quattro Concept would be a bit bigger, it would be a great competitor to Bimmer's X3.
