Thank you Yannis, I've been waiting for a test like this.
It's called the Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT.
This is a very fair test, and I absolutely agree with the reviewers. The QP is not a car to use everyday, and if I were to choose a daily driver it would be the S8. But as a second car... a QP without question.

I've experienced it a few times too. But I thinkbuild quality looks suitable to me. When did you see it? Maserati has a habit of improving quality by refining production processes as the car is being produced... After all, how much do you expect from a handmade Italian car? I don't think the CLS or the S8 is built by hand - I'd hazard a guess they're built on production lines.
As for the gearbox, yes... I think it's terrible too. It's best to stick to manual mode.

M5? Excuse me but M5 is NOT in that class. BMW just don't have a car to compare to those. No M7. The M5 is competing against the E63 and S6 (soon RS6) and not thse cars, so it's obvious that it wasn't here.

The one that didn't belog there was the S8. The CLS is based on the E klasse, and the Maserati's target was the M5 (they said it themselves).
It's Audi that lack a competing car, RS6.

I must say, i'm a big Mercedes man, but the Audi appeals to me quite a bit too. Of course the Quattroporte offers a more sporty drive than the other two, but i don't think it would be my choice, i'm not a Maserati man. So it would between the S8 and the CLS for me, E63 AMG please.
