The first review doesn't sound credible at all and yet Mr. Steven Jackson approved. Maybe Steven Jackson has something against Audi...But hey! What do I know...maybe the A8 brakes are faulty and someone got a lemon.

Still I tried to delete it yesterday and as you can, it didn't work to write 1075 words why I don't believe on that review.

The second is marginally more credible but still lacks something to make it more "believeable". BTW: From a mainstream 30K SUV to a prestigious 100K Saloon...holy shit...that's I call upgrade!

They both are very similar on details and they both are from North America.

Ummm...why on why they smell like fake reviews done by 14-year old kid whose daddy drives a Toyota Camry?

Come on i have read complains like this one for all cars (including Japanese ones of course).
Last year someone started a new thread in the Car Lounge forums to describe how his wife was almost killed (that's the expression he used) when the brakes of his E class ceased to work due to malfunction. One other made a intenet page about his faulty X5 which was in the shop all the time ect. ect.

Here are some pages with problems i found regarding Mercedes-Benz:

Surely you can find similar pages for Audi, BMW or even Lexus!

A lot of stuff broke on the car in the first review -- they must be really careless people; I mean, I have not heard of so many things breaking on an A8 before ...how the hell do you break a cup holder unless you are not using it as it was intended?

I haven't heard a peep about any A8 reliabilty problems?!

This sounds like (although I could be wrong) an owner that abused his car and got some services refused because of it... and now he's taking it out in cyberspace. If not, he was just a poor sap that got really unlucky!

My dad had some trouble with his A8. His D2 chassis one was flawless from what I remember, but his D3 has had little problems since he got it. The faceplate on the rear air conditioning thing came off recently as well as the cover for one of the tweeter speakers in the back. There were some electrical problems with the car like the passenger side window auto-up and auto-down functions not working properly and also the trunk wouldn't close automatically like it was supposed to (not sure if this was as a result of technical glitches or abuse since I don't know if manually shutting it hurts the mechanism). There was other stuff I don't remember.

Interesting Carbon,

These little problems always disappoint owners so much ....these cars are expensive, the people who buy them are most often very excited and proud to own them at first -- when problems like this start to occur, they can ruin the whole experience, especially if they are on-going problems. I saw on Top Gear, even the Porsche 997 interior has a few minor quality issues -- I was disappointed to see that.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
