A6/S6/RS6 Audi A6 Official Press Release

Very much a "beginning of the third decade of the millenium" automobile. Moreso than the W213 and/or G30, IMHO. An "etron 6" version could be very interesting.

I’ve seen several on the road by now and must say, good looking car with lots of présence. An A8 is not needed anymore imo.

The A6 is too good looking and outshines the A8 but more surprisingly the A7. I do prefer the interior quality of the Q8 and A8 though.

Is the difference in interior quality that apparent? I’ve sat only in an A8 till now, so I can’t say anything about the A6’s interior.

I suspect that the upcoming production version of the eTron GT (allegedly almost absolutely identical to the concept-save doorhandles and rims) will assume the role of the Audi brands' decorative mantelpiece. Its' future halo car.

I sat in an A6 and Q8 back to back at a dealership; didn’t find anything different in quality. If anything; the A6’s presence blew the Q8 out of the water. The Q8 does look good, but it needs a striking color to announce its presence; the A6 just oozes class

Did you touch the doors and dashboard? The Q8 uses better materials in some areas and the silver trim on the dash isn't hallow.

EXCLUSIVE: Audi Will Bring The A6 And RS6 Avant To The US
JAN 11 BY JARED ROSENHOLTZ RUMOR
Wagon lovers rejoice!

We've known for a while that Audi is working on a new RS7 Sportback, which will rival the new BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG. The new RS7 will boast over 600 horsepower from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 shared with the Porsche Panamera, though some rumors have pointed towards a hybrid drivetrain borrowed from the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

Now, an inside source at Audi has told us the next-generation RS7 will be joined by a more practical sibling, the RS6 Avant. Our source spoke to two Audi USA Executives, who confirmed that both the A6 and RS6 Avant models will be sold in the US market by 2020. If this information is accurate, our prayers for a fast Audi wagon in the US will finally be answered, hallelujah!

Both the A6 and RS6 Avants are expected to arrive next year in 2020, likely alongside the new RS7. The previous two generations of the RS6 Avant were never offered in the US market, making them tempting pieces of forbidden fruit for American car enthusiasts.

Americans buyers typically prefer SUVs to wagons, though the wagon segment enjoyed success in 2018 thanks to a flood of new models. While BMW hasn't built an M5 wagon since 2010 (in Europe only), Mercedes currently builds a wagon version of the E63 AMG for the US market. Now, the E63 could be getting get some stiff competition.

MBUSA is sweating at the mere thought of this.

I had a rented A6 for a few days and I'm very impressed by the ride Quality and Refinement.

It's more silent at high speeds than my A8 D4 and probably if it had air suspension it would be even more comfortable.
I was doing 200 km/h on the German autobahns and wind noise was VERY low.

Just a bit of road noise from the 19-inch wheels on not so smooth road surface.

I think it drives better than the 5er or E class.

I like the interior design but too many glossy surfaces make it hard to keep it clean (even the steering wheel buttons are glossy). Touchscreens leave fingerprints and then look dirty. Audi should include jeweler gloves for those who like their interior clean :)

I'm not a fan of their electronic locks, while it's nice to pull a bit the handle to have the door open, when you open it fast from outside it has a small delay.

Compared to the old generation, I feel that Audi cut costs on some materials, but it still feels solid.

It's an extremely good looking car inside and out. I can't wait to see the S6 and RS6 models.

Also allroad should be out any day now. Its top on my list of next car purchase planned for later this year (together with % series G31)...

What a strange decision.. at least when it comes to Audi. It looks like the new RS6 will share it's face with the new RS7 (or it will be very similar). I'm on the PS4 web browser right now so can't post the pic, only link...

I actually had a brief moment in the new Audi A6 at the Auto Show, it is one jolly of a car this one.

The seats are very comfortable and supportive where needed with room to spare in both front and rear. Upon inspection, the quality of the interior is up there.
The materials and haptics of the manual controls have an excellent feel to them. Audi has definitely raised the bar here. To me it surpasses the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class. The materials below the elbow line also felt of great quality. The UI is responsive/intuitive and has a punchy look to the screen without that over saturated look. I, however, did not like the clicking feature of the controls on the screen. Overall it appears to be a good car and is best experienced in the metal than in pictures.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
